No, you're still misinterpreting it.

Gateway did announce 10.3 compatibility yes, but they STILL require you to downgrade to 9.2. They're currently developing a safer way to downgrade from 10.3.

Currently for you, there's no way to access emunand unless you downgrade to 9.2. You can install menuhax or any kind of hax, but they're all homebrew and does not give you access to emunand in any way.

ok I see.

Thanks for that info.

I guess i'll just wait the GW official downgrade method. If i remember, my pokebank licence doesn't end yet. I have time.

Is there any way to recover saves from cia games (that were installed on emunand) when all you have is the sd card? I'm not holding out much hope :)

What is the easier method of playing Rom hacks with a 3ds with 9.2 sysnand - 10.5 emunand with Rxtools ? Hans ? NTR ? other ?

Provided you have a backup of the emuNAND and either the saves are still on the SD card or you have a backup of the SD card, yes it's possible. You'll need to restore the emuNAND backup and you should regain access to the saves.

Yello. Here's another question for the 800-page thread...
I'm trying to install a few themes onto emuNAND, but I keep bumping into a dead end. These are official themes from "that iso site", and they already come as .cia files. But FBI and DevMenu will say that there's an error, saying the .cia file is invalid. Not only that, but the themes that I had originally (bought from the Theme Shop) disappear from the menu, and I cannot redownload them (it says I have to purchase it again, or at least it shows the big blue button saying "Purchase"). Fortunately, I had an emuNAND.bin backup, so everything is alright after emuNAND restoration.
Is there something that I skipped or did wrong in the process of installing a .cia file of a theme? Or is it possible that the files are corrupted somehow?
Thanks in advance.

Can anyone explain what the "firmware.bin" files that are needed for CFW are? That is, what part of the system image is it? Sorry, I'm not sure where to go to look this up on my own =/

hi. im a bit experienced but out of date.

i have gateway card and a friend's console to put backups on (im keeping GW for my console)
his is on 9.9U.

i was thinking of setting up gatewaynand, install a bunch of cias, and then put Rxtools for him to launch Gwnand and be able to play the games.

the procedure i was thinking about is.
Launch GW>backup
Launch GW>create Emunand
Launch GW> install stuff
BrowserHack>Configure MenuHax (type1)

It should be done.

Now for every time use:
Menuhax>RXtools>GWnand

anyone could confirm if it works?

Uhhhh more like it should be:

1. Downgrade to 9.2
2. Backup 9.2
3. Create Emunand
4. Install Menuhax
5. Unlink
6. Install stuff.

RxTools and Gateway use the same Emunand, so you can definitely install RxTools and keep the GW card for yourself.

why do you recommend downgrading to 9.2?
afaik, GW downgrade goes all the way back to 4.2 (or 4.5). How could i update to 9.2?

Because to get ANY cfw to work (RxTools/Gateway) You need a console on fw <9.2.

But for Menuhax, you'd need a console on 9.0+ as it works off of theme data, so you'd need a console with fw between 9.0 and 9.2

If you're thinking of just downgrading from 9.9 to 4.x and updating to 9.2, why not just downgrade straight to 9.2 using sysupdater?

It's essentially the "kernel" of the 3DS OS. More specifically it's called NATIVE_FIRM, which contains code that both the ARM11 and ARM9 CPUs in the 3DS run when loaded. This file is also stored on sysNAND and emuNAND, but as of now, nobody's written code to use it directly from emuNAND, instead, opting to bundle it with CFW (or having the user download it, in the case of Cakes/RxTools).

More details? FW? Old/New 3ds? You probably need to update the browser. But, you can always use CTRboot manager and load HB from there :)

im trying to create RXnand. (homemenuhax not intalled)
sysnand 9.9 O3DS.

Tubehax doesn't work (a newer version of this software is required)
Browser can't access browserhax, says The internet browser cannot be used at this time (after setting up the DNS because of the "update required" message)

From 9.9 on they force you to update when you launch the browser.

If i remember correctly you bypass this by loading up the page as fast as you can before the update nag
