So, if I'm on 3.55 with a Mimana TN-V "bubble", just to get to my PSP stuff (I just plan on homebrew, *maybe* a ROM of a PSP game I physically own), I shouldn't upgrade? I'm not sure if there's an advantage to upgrading as I can push downloads via PSN anyways at the moment, that's how I got Mimana on this. VHBL just allows for homebrew/emulators, right?

I'm not sure with all these terms tbh. I can't find anything concrete whether or not the exploit I did to get "PSP mode" on my Vita is a kernel exploit, or how to do VHBL on 3.55, I'd appreciate any advice.

I saw this https://gbatemp.net/threads/alert-new-update-3-57-fixes-all-custom-bubble-and-ecfw-methods.411372/ post, but I was a little confused re "VHBL" would work, but not others.

Further, beyond Netflix, is there anything I'd miss staying on an older version?

Don't update your Vita. Get Mimina and use an exploit savedata to install TN-V or ARK. (Preferrably TN-V), otherwise, no ePSP CFW. (3.57 breaks this.)

TN-V and ARK use PSP-mode kernel exploits, which was blocked in the 3.57 update. VHBL doesn't use that kernel exploit, but VHBL only allows for homebrew and no PSP backup playing.

You will have to invest in another ps vita in order to have both epsp and psn/online access.

A few newer games that need higher firmware versions, that's about it. IMO there are currently two firmware versions worth having, and those are 3.18 for the PS1 Loader exploit TN-X and 3.51 so you can have Rejuvenate with full Vita 444mhz speed available (you lose TN-X but retain TN-V11 on this so PSP backups are still a possibility).

Ah, only just noticed this.
Are you wanting to get Netflix to work on a lower firmware as well? because if so, check here: http://wololo.net/2013/04/17/lower-ps-vita-firmwares-for-dummies/

There is an article about getting Netflix to work on lower FWs.

Netflix isn't major. I did have one other question though, and not sure if I should put it here, or make a new thread. I'm trying to install an Emulator, but I can't. I have it in my save file for both TNV and Mimana, but I can't get it to /PSP/GAME

I have PSPFiler as recovery, but it doesn't want to write to /PSP/GAME. Thoughts?

Ah, 3.50 and up restricts directly writing to PSP/GAME, and the only workaround makes use of the fail-mail hack (basically only useful for 3.50, 3.51 and 3.52), so you'd be out of luck there.

But nontheless, you could try to install the GAME2VHBL plugin for TN-V and place your emulators and homebrews into PSP/VHBL:

Ah, ok. Nothing seemed to spell that out. So if I wanted to get the ISO's (CSO's?) to my Vita, would I do that with CMA, or PSP/VHBL?

Edit: I realize talking about that may be against rules. Feel free to ignore it if it is.

You download your ISOs, place them in the TN-V savedata, and then transfer the TN-V savedata over with QCMA or OpenCMA (whichever you use; because official CMA won't work). Then use PSPFiler to move the ISOs over to the ms0:ISO directory.

Oh, and yeah you are allowed to discuss about ISO files, just not link them or anything.

Hopefully last one to bug you with. I've been getting a bluescreen of death when opening Mimana/TNV11 now. I've deleted the save, redownloaded fresh Mimana from PSN, copied the data back over, re-exploted Mimana but I still get a BSOD. It did go green when I exploited, and it goes green when I open Mimana. Can't seem to find any info about it... Or is this something I'm being stupid about?

Edit: Found post #257 from https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-t...hacking-guide-check-here-first.403035/page-13 will try soon and update.
