As the title says.. i have an O3DS XL with FW V10.3.0-28U am i stuck? i seem to always miss the exploits after they get patched and end up updating since i find it pointless to wait and miss another exploit.. but are there any known exploits for 10.3 yet?

I try to stay at a version for at least a month and regularly check but google is getting more and more useless by the day by showing entirely unrelated results for my searches so its getting hard to check up on updates...

Also have no idea if this is in the right section... there should be a more obvious label on the sections saying if asking about firmwares is the right place

Also if theres an exploit that requires me to buy a game.. that isnt happening, i dont have the money to constantly get new games (which is why i am staying away from the vita homebrew scene)

EDIT: i actually forgot that i still have the homebrew menu files from then TubeHax and BrowserHax still worked on my SD card.. so if i am stuck i guess its safe to delete those

No,you can borrow a friends 9.2 nintendo 3ds and swap the motherboard with the nand. Then after you put his old motherboard in the 3ds housing and put your motherboard in his 3ds housing. You just downgraded from 10.3 to 9.2.

What do you mean by exploit?
Userland exploit or kernel exploit?
Also, depending to the answer of that question I suppose this post should go either in 3DS - ROM Hacking, Translations and Utilities or 3DS - Flashcards & Custom Firmwares.

i guess i should've thought of that.. i guess userland? since i know that kernel exploits have been impossible since 9.2... i had HomemenuHax before 10.3 as an alternate way of getting to homebrew menu

if there are any kernel exploits i would go for that since custom firmware

You're not stuck, but you will need one of the exploits on a physical game cartridge because these aren't patched yet (unpatchable? Nintendo haven't patched them yet). I recommend Cubic Ninja. The may be kinda expensive but it's worth it.

You need another exploit to install oOT exploit on the cart.
OR you need somebody else with an exploitable system to put the exploit on OoT.
It can be done with a Powersaves, an R4i Save dongle, or a DS/Lite with a ds flashcard.

Granted, those could all technically be considered exploits too, just not the same as the ones on the 3DS. :P

You will have to cut off the tab on the side of your OoT3D cartridge, just so you know.

You have to get a certain DS homebrew on your DS flashcard and you can use it to restore the save file to OoT3D (you cut off the tab on the side so that the cartridge can fit inside the DS/Lite.)
DS/Lite can't actually read and play 3DS games that way, but it can read/write to and from the cartridge to backup and restore save files.

I'd like to let you all know there's a little known 3rd option to flashing your oothax save.

Minimum Hardware Needed:
DSlite/phat + DS flashcard.

1. Download DSsavemanager http://3dbrew.org/wiki/DSaveManager
2. Download the save files here https://github.com/yellows8/oot3dha...t3dhax_rawsaveimages_haxpayloads_11-10-15.zip
3. Find your 3ds's save in the raw 'saveimages' folder (refer to the oot3dhax repo readme). If you don't know what card remaster type you have, just grab both.
4. Place the 2 raw .sav files and DSM.nds in your DS flash microSD root.
5. This is the tricky part. You will either need to saw off the nub of the corner of your zelda cart or open it, take out the board, and place it in a ds card shell.
6. Now boot up DSM.nds and select "Restore save(FAT)" Find your save and select it.
7. Replace the DS flashcard with OOT and Press A to write the save. Done! Enjoy your OOT3Dhax. (if the 1st save didn't work, try the second)

I have tested this method and it works.

lolz, didn't know that, never to old to learn something new ;)
So for his US O3DS he needs "POST5_U_23552_usa_9221.sav"
