The netloader screen doesn't seem to render correctly when a file is being transfered, in case you're not already aware.

The text never gets cleared, and instead text appears to get drawn on top of existing text.
Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. I don't use the netloader (I don't even know what it is), so I haven't tested this. Would it be possible for you to upload a screenshot?

By all means upload the image. But that error means that the image has an alpha channel, or is not RGB. (or at least, it means that's what libPNG *thinks* it is...)

So I did a little research and it seems that photoshop saves the image with an alpha channel regardless if it's opaque or not. MSPaint does not remove this channel, it only sets all the colors to be fully opaque.

Pixelmator does the same thing. I always have to open the file in Preview and re-export as PNG without alpha. Maybe I should just add the option to support images with alpha. At least then it will load the file, and if it there aren't actually any transparent areas then it will still look fine.

Homebrew with an specific title target ".xml" in it result in a "Missing target title" screen. This happens with Ironhax installer. Any way to resolve this issue?

Will this launcher ever add an option to choose between grid or list? I like the new feature it has but I'm not a big fan of the grid display, I'm too used to DS Linkers and the previous HBL :)

Ok so for everyone having a issue in getting wallpapers to work I will tell you how to fix it I have tried a number of wallpapers and they all work. So I know we can't post links here so we will need Google. Search for jpg to png (does not matter if your wallpapers are not jpeg this method converts all its just the quickest way to find what we need) select the top search result and load the page you will see an option to upload the pic you want to convert so select it from your hd or storage device of choice then change the picture size to the size as advised by mashers then do not I repeat do not change any other options next select convert picture and that's it you will simply need to rename your wallpapers again as advised by mashers and that's it. All in all takes about 40 secs to convert your top and bottom wallpaper and it works every time

If you want a quick fix: copy the image to your clipboard (do not open the image directly), open MSPaint, paste the image (crop/resize if necessary), and save as PNG. That's it. Now it'll work with the launcher without any issues.

Want a quicker fix? Download beta 32 ;)
  • Added support for wallpaper PNG files with a transparency channel. The background colour will show through any transparent areas.
  • Fixed the bug which left a gap in the app backgrounds if the region free launcher was disabled
  • Added an option to hide the “homebrew launcher” logo
  • Separate title text colour now configurable in the theme settings. This allows you to change the colour of the app name title text on the top screen so it no longer has to match the colour of the top bar
  • Icons for the new options in settings

Thanks - I'll try it here and see what happens. I've added it to the todo list to fix this.

I won't be adding this, but it's definitely possible for someone to do it once the source code is released.

Ah man, now I need to test if transparency will work in .smdh files.

Homebrew icons with transparency would be awesome.
I don't know if the file format would support it, but the launcher expects GBR image data so the image would be corrupt if there was an alpha channel added. Assuming the file format would accommodate the extra size needed for the fourth channel, you would also need to include a flag to specify the image format (i.e. BGR/BGRA).

This is indeed fixed, but I'm still seeing no empty app backgrounds when looking at my 3ds folder (three pages). My other folders (System.hbfolder and Testing.hbfolder) are less than one page each, and appear with a number of blank app backgrounds as expected. The 3ds folder, however, looks identical whether "empty icon backgrounds" is enabled or not.

Weird! They show for me :/ Have you got more than one page on your 3ds folder?

:P

Yeah, it appears (or rather, doesn't appear) there and on the title launcher also (again, three pages on my end). Same behavior with the third row enabled or disabled, and with the region free launcher enabled or disabled.
Oh sorry I didn't see that. I think I've just figured out why this is happening. Should be fixed in the next beta. Sorry about that!
