I would like to test, but I cannot access to eshop to get a DS virtual console :(
I don't have a Wii U, so I can't test either. Would be cool to play DSCraft on Wii U, but highly unlikely because it requires maps to be on SD card (microsd). Maybe once the scene grows, we will live to see a DS emulator for Wii U.

The WiiU is technically capable of this stuff running in fullspeed :)

It is likely to happen someday.

I have Super Mario Kart (SNES) on VC on my WiiU, but loading the FSA in Gecko dotNET doesn't show me the ROM.

I'm aware of that about nes and snes vc (dunno for gba).
I think the rom is compiled directly into the executable, since you can retrieve it into the ram.

So there's no way to overwrite the ROM? I'm still trying to search for it memory (using the .SFC ROM I downloaded for reference), but no luck. Is that what you meant by "you can retrieve it into the ram"?

did you try the 10 memory area?

I cannot verify myself since I have no others vc than dk64 :(
I didn't realize that was the only VC you had. Super Mario Kart is the only one I have, so I'm going to keep messing with it.

I found the ROM (identical to .sfc ROM release) in memory. Starts at 0x10502250 and goes to 0x10582240. Is there any way to replace 0x7FFF0 of memory at once? Poking one word at a time isn't going to cut it lol.

currently, no, but the fact that you found the rom area is a good step forward :)

A good step forward into a wall haha. Nothing to do but wait until we can make large RAM edits, or poke 65534 values into memory... but I think by the time I finished that, it would be possible to do the former. :P

The Wii U is definitely better at emulating older consoles than the Wii was by a long shot, that we know, and given how well VC injections work with the games that do work, it gives us a good indication on how well unofficial emulators can run too :P

Any notable differences between emulation of these consoles on PC as compared to emulating on the Wii U? Does the Wii U do a better job of emulating any games?

Emulators on consoles rarely have to rely on plugins or tweaking games meticulously for starters, they're pre-configured to run games optimally. Plus the filters often look better on TVs than on monitors, so it makes it feel more legit. Most of the time, emulators on consoles, even Nintendo's emulators have code from open source emulators contained in them. The Wii's Snes emulator comes to mind, it had code based off a Mac OS Snes emulator, which never contained the SuperFX code. Many Wii programmers found this out by digging in the VC.

This is... Very interesting:

"Menu>ROM Switch.Do you want switch to this rom?."

I wonder what this string is for...

Found in Donkey Kong 64 Ram dump.

I seriously have no Idea of what I am doing!
