After finishing P3 earlier this summer, I dove headlong into Persona 4 Golden for the Vita. One of my friends bought it for me last Christmas and I would have felt bad putting it off any longer, even with my summer list of games looming behind me, and summer isnt getting any longer.

Just about everything in P4 is better than 3 (IMHO mind you), except for the story. Not that the story was bad, it just felt necessarily Scooby-do-ish. I didn't really like the whole living in a back water town at first, especially because of how much I really like port island (persona 3). But everything else was great. The social links, the dungeons, and other mechanics were superb.

I didn't really understand the ending and/or Adachi's motives... He killed 2 people and then decided that he wanted people to live in blissful solitude? weird. And I would have never guessed the Gas station employment. I dont know, I guess I didnt understand the motives really. But It doesnt really matter, the game was fun as all get out anyways. And I really loved that it didnt leave me cold like P3 did.

I think im in love with Risette

Took you long enough
Hahaha yeah I know. It should be noted that I was able to to get all the social links maxed in one playthrough. I was only planning on playing it once so I can move on from this game and never come back if I choose too. IF I do choose to play a NG+, i can get the Golden ending and I will put the rest of the effort into getting all the rest of the trophies. The next time I play it, wont be done till I plat the game.

Because he was discontent with the world he felt it didn't deserve to exist as is and believed that others felt the same way, or at least should. Keep in mind that he was under the influence of izanami the whole time too

I'm agree with you Bortzy on best girl.

That either means we have great or terrible waifu taste.

So what SMT title is next?
Either I give myself a break and wait for Persona 5 to hit, or I'll get the itch to play Devil Survivor 2 3DS.

I stumbled across P3 after telling my friend about me playing Devil Survivor Overclock and how one of the characters reminds me of him so much lol. He suggested I take a look into the Persona series. So I got my hands on 3 and play that one, and he bought me P4G for christmas. So after finishing P3 and dove into P4 and beat the crap out of that game. I really wanted to finish it before P5 comes out in the fall or winter, so I'm ready for that.

But Devil Survivor was the series that really hooked me. You and I share the same monster training blood so you understand the need to fuse and breed demons and monsters. I love tactics, urban settings, and monster training, so I am really having to hold myself off while I play other games lol. But I dont want to burn myself out of the SMT universe too fast lol

I can't agree with you Bortz
because I haven't played P4 yet :P

no seriously, I can't. one little thing that bother me is the merging of the physical attacks. WHAT WHERE THEY THINKING?!?!?!!?! if an enemy has reflect physical and you are low on sp you are boned.

and....... that's it. as I said before I'm yet to play it(and I have it on Vita and can get it for PS2 if I want too), but every person that liked P3 says that the history of P4 is shit in comparison that I'm waiting until I'm on the mood to do it.

Yeah that bothered me too. When I played DeSu and SMT4, I always felt like it was way more beneficial to go magic nuke instead of physical tank because of the amount of weaknesses I could exploit was way higher than someone who might happen to be weak to physical. Same with Persona 4. Now in Persona 3, I did really like the different kinds of physical damage you could do, I thought that was really clever.

Now all that said, remember that I played the game on Very Easy, as to not get bogged down in the dungeons so I would have lots of days to do social links. Even on Very Easy, I did feel like i spent a lot of time in the dungeons.

Understatement. Nocturne was a very very good title. Much too good in fact. I was blown away.

Don't forget about Strange Journey(DS),Digital Devil Saga 1and 2(PS2/PSN),Nocturne(PS2/PSN) if you havn't already played these(if you already played these then my bad),shortly after reading your P3 topic I had a sudden urge to play it after not touching it in years,so true every now and then I must play one of the gbc monster titles or the DS ones(hell even the first game on the DS I still love).I don't own a PS3 so P5 is not an option at the moment but it's getting more tempting as the years go by...

PLAY PEROSNA 4 DANCING BORTZ!!!
I am actually currently in a wresting match with Thug and Gamewinner for the review code :P

Took you long enough
PS, I seriously was considering P4 Arena yesterday a GameStop, after finding they send all their 3DSs to the warehouse and update them

Strange Journey is on m longer list. I certainly want to play it. DDS1/2 are a maybe. I might play them at some time, but not right now. I would suggest either P3P if you have a PSP or maybe P3FES if you have a PS2/3. FES is probably the most "complete", but Portable has faster travel and dialogue options, and new social links.

oh Dragon Quest Monsters. I didn't initially like Joker 1 but after getting a few of the rank B monsters or so (King Slime, Demon-at-Arms) I really started to dig Joker. I played a lot of Joker 2 and then Pro after you supplied me with SOuiment's menu translation. I loved the new monsters and mechanics of 2, but I did not like the island. There was no real sense of progression. If just felt like cheap fast travel to me. I wish I could take the Joker 2 Pro monsters and mechanics and shove them into Joker 1 :P.

I have actually toyed with making a Terry's Wonderland rom hack of Joker 1, but I have NO experience with romhacking what so over. Just lots of ideas.
