Hacking Rxtools mset issue

Everything works fine up till the actual boot, i installed the mset exploit using my flashcard and the rxinstaller.nds. The problem is when i enter into nintendo ds profile. It doesn't work it just stays on a gray screen for a few seconds (both screens) and after that it returns to the home menu and displays an error which reboots my 3ds. I have all the necessary tools and am on sysnand 4.5 but it just doesn't work. Are there any solutions or alternatives besides using the internet browser?

I've read two solutions IIRC:

1. Install gateway's mset exploit first, use it to run the gateway menu, then install rxinstaller mset, and it should work

or

2. use the rxinstaller.nds from 2.4 / 2.5 / 2.5.1 / 2.5.2

The problem with that is that both solutions give me the same result, gateway mset still gives two grey screens but they stay like that till i force my 3ds off.

Reformat your 3DS SD card, and put a fresh copy of launcher.dat/rxtools.dat back on it before trying again.

Is that really my only option? I honestly can't be bothered after all the changes i've made.

What is your complete firmware ? Do you have a ds flashcart ?

My sysnand is 4.5, I have a ds flashcart it's what i'm using to install the mset exploit

You can back up the contents first, just make sure you put a fresh copy of launcher.dat/rxTools.dat on. It seems like the exploit gets stuck on loading the .dat.

Does it work with the browser ?
And you should tey with the rxinstaller from the 2.5.2 or 2.4 version. Maybe the last one is broken.

I have the same problem. I get the gray screen, and then the system reboots. Unlike the topic creator I no longer have my flashcard, so I can not reinstall the installer.

If I use the launch.rxtools.net I get an error. My sysnand is 4.2.

Any hope I can get this to work?

Thanks! I got it to work with the Browser. Now I just need a way to install these CIAs :wacko:

without having a gateway to install another cfw with an installer.

Ok I'm pretty sure I know my problem, I am just not sure how to fix it. I can get rxtools working fine (albeit, only through the browser) But to install cias I need to install a cfw right? I have tried both Pasta and Palantine but I always get hung up on the mset. Every time I try to load the mset on either (or anything for that matter) I get the grey screens, and my system has to reboot.

Is there a way around this?

You need to injecr FBI to install cias, read the read the readme ine the fbi_injection.
And for your mset problem, did you use the rxinstaller in the 2.4 ?

I'm trying to inject FBI, but when I launch rxtools and hold R nothing happens. It just loads up RX tools like normal.

Yes I used 2.4

Edit: Got FBI to work. Just used the new launcher instead. Thanks for your help.
