It's not that it doesnt work. when you launch the app it says "press (a) to update. if you are using cia you can close the program now." i dont know what it means by that.

Hi, yesterday I installed SysUpdater to the home screen via DevMenu. Updated to 9.2 (actually 9.0 for EUR) using the files downloaded with 3DSNUS. Worked perfectly. GL

Wait... can I put the 4.x System Settings in the updates folder and install it to NAND through Sysupdater 0.3?

thanks, it worked fine. went to 9.0 without whatever those other files were, but it works for what i need so no biggy.

My 3DS is completely bricked due to using this method. Is there any way to recover it or should I return it and wait for emunand pasta?

I used Pasta to install bigbluemenu, used 3dnus to get the CIAs I needed, and tried installing them using bbm. I did the whole thing during a manic state, though. :s

Jesus Christ, do people even bother to read anymore? It says very clearly: use sysupdater 0.3 or 0.4, not BigBlueMenu.
You bricked because you didn't follow the instructions properly.

Apparently I did use sysupdater 0.3, or at least I have a copy showing up as last modified on April 2nd in the folder. It's kind of hard to backtrack through that kind of fugue. :/

It's also not a big deal that it bricked at all.

If I use sysupdater 0.3 or 0.4, can I use it to downgrade my System Setting back to 4.x?

You should be able to, but it'll be useless because the MSET exploit won't work without the correct offsets IIRC.

Thanks. I've been trying to fix my 4.x MSET for 9.2 and have gotten my Gateway Blue Card fixed, but haven't been able to reinstall the exploit. Hopefully this should fix it.

Can I ask how is your system "bricked" right now? What happens after you turn it on?

Hope that you got semi-brick. Do the combo L+R+A+Up + [Power On] to enter recovery mode then follow pop-up instruction to do the rest. It will let you update to the latest firmware. Nothing we can do at that stage of the issue if hardware nand-mod hasn't modified yet.

Were you on heroin? How do you not know what you did or even read what to do in the first place?

@VerseHell So someone on Reddit says that you can install the last two 9.2 update files via BigBlueMenu, is that even advisable? I don't want to install anything from BigBlueMenu and cause a brick. I wonder if it matters for the last two cia files.

Hello guys! I have a couple of questions. I just recently ordered a 4.5U cartridge to update our son's O3DS in order to install Pasta CFW or any other CFW. Right now, the O3DS is on FW 3.0.0-6.0U. Once I receive the cartridge & update to 4.5, what are the advantages of then updating to FW 9.2.0-20?

Will I need to update to the FW in order to play all the latest Rom backups or can we stay on 4.5 FW to do all the things needed? eShop/internet isn't really a necessity but curious to know if eShop/internet can be accessed safely from older FW or not? Thanks.

You can't play 7.X encrypted games on 4.X, unless you have a gateway.

So, I guess I'll need to update beyond 4.5 then to play games. I've spent quite a bit less than the price of a Gateway though to get this done by buying a cartridge with 4.5 on it.

All I'll need to do after that is install Pasta CFW or equivalent & then update to 9.2.0-20. I was hoping to avoid buying Gateway or even Sky3DS for now & it looks like I have done that with the route I went.

I've saved about $35 for now after buying a 4.5 cartridge & 32gb SD Card + R4i 3DS for NDS content. I have an AceKard for DS stuff but it won't work anymore after updating. Thanks!

It does work as long as you don't use the 0.4b (but the link was removed anyway). The only issue is that 3DNUS downloads the 9.0 and not the 9.2 update, but it's not a big deal. (and if you really want to update to 9.2,you can manually download the 2 missing cias)
