I don't see the problem here. He's being very open minded about the whole thing. Simply asking for more solid evidence is not being closed mined. The fact that you responded that way lessens your credibility. Anyone with a kernel exploit would be more than happy to provide more evidence and wouldn't get all defensive.

Look at the poll. Nobody believes it, so getting defensive is the natural human thing to do.

#1, #2, and #3 are fair enough, though I must ask why the IP address was being obscured at all. Surely someone who can develop a browser and kernel exploit would know that there's no reason to. #4 makes no sense, just because it's an MP4 file doesn't mean it came from your phone. Being a number or being 720p is not proof either, just circumstances that fit. And for what you said about your phone, we have to take your word for that.

I'm glad you took the time to try and prove your video, but it'd be more helpful if you used the kernel exploit to do something more obvious. For example, editing the text or other data in a game. That would be essentially undeniable proof.

I once knew a developer on XDA when I was big into Android hacking. One day he came forward with claims that he managed to boot CM7 on a Motorola Defy. This device has a locked bootloader and signature checks around every corner. He was laughed at and told his POC video was a fake and must have been edited because there was no way to exploit the boot chain or any other method to boot a custom ROM let alone a custom kernel. His name is Quarx and he went on to win XDA's developer of the year and is a VERY well known name in Android hacking for MULTIPLE devices. He did this at a ripe age of 17 or 18 (I can't remember for sure but he was very young.) My point? Maybe we should cut this guy some slack. DarkFlare69, do what Quarx did, release something substantial and your critics will have no choice but to retract everything bad they've said about you or your work. Until then people will be critics. Prove everyone wrong and release something, its the only way. Share it with a reputable developer and have them validate your work is legit if you don't want it to go completely public. Hell, Hykem has been a name in more than one 'scene' and is very reputable. Have him validate what you've done, ask him not to share it if thats what you are trying to avoid and I'm pretty certain he won't.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, not a video that fails to provide absolute proof followed by another video with invalid reasoning. I have no trouble believing that someone else could develop an exploit: fail0verflow did it, Chadderz did it, we did it, and some other people may very well have done it in the shadows. But I won't believe that it has been done until I either see undeniable proof myself or an extremely trustworthy figure confirm it.

I am with you on that.

This is where I am at:
I won't call him a fake, BUT I also won't blindly believe his claims until undeniable proof is shown.

Since only an update can patch the exploits, I don't see the harm in sharing with hykem et al. Everyone knows you say that you have an exploit. There are other kernel exploits that are confirmed. The scene is going to start without your exploit. It would be cool though (and useful) if you did find an exploit and it is different than the one mn1 and others have. I believe chaderz has a unique exploit. Is this correct?

We've been misled by videos. Remember the four horsemen? Actual pros stepped in and ripped that apart. Crediar noticed an nfc symbol issue ;-) Anyway, those are my thoughts.

I'll work on something that is undeniable proof, then....
See my post. That is a sure way to prove it AND would be useful.

I don't know if this exploit is real or not (the reason I took idk in the poll) as there is not enough info.
Yeah, there are many red flags, but again that doesn't mean it must be fake.
But anyway, even if it is real or fake, please don't let social pressure from a forum bother you. It is not worth it or healthy.
If you really want to generate proof, well ok, do it.
But if not, keep working on your own until you think (if ever) it is ok to show it.
And if it happens to be fake and you were just seeking attention, again trust me it is not worth it, let it go. There are better ways to reach people.
At least, that is my humble opinion, don't let the "exigences" and "opinions" of people from forums get the better of you.

The problem with peaceful and quiet is that over there it's not.
Over there, people are still questioning your integrity.
And that's not something I can fix.
Elmoemo can't fix it by vouching for you. TotalInsanity can't fix it by apologizing.
Only you can fix it.

If you don't have complete kernal access, go and say so. That's what the entire argument is about.
If you have partial access that's actually good enough to clear your name, even if it's not a full exploit.
But there is no other person living or dead that can do this for you.

I have partial access that's good enough to clear my name.

I wish it worked that way, but you're going to need to explain what access you have.
I have access to the home menu, and some title management (as seen with the folder creation).

It's not complete yet and lots of things can come by modding it slightly, so there's no saying whether or not it'll grow into complete or stay at partial.

The problem I have is that, whether or not you did it, faking that would be possible with good enough video editing. Doing something more substantial like game modding would leave no doubt in my mind.
