Tried loading the arcade version in MAME. Sadly the sound test is just a mininal stereo/speaker check and it black screens when the actual game is loaded (or just takes a REALLY long time to load, I haven't tried leaving it for a while yet).. The version of demul that supports it hasn't been released yet so still have to wait a bit.

I've been using some semi-professional voice actors I met through a connection at my job, but if anyone wants to provide voice acting, feel free to send in a recording. One long MP3/4 is fine. All I do is put it in Audacity to cut it apart. You can just send it to me or What through the message system and we'll move ahead from there.

I think we're set for marcher voices, but feel free to send one in anyway if you want to give it a shot.

Wow. some peole want to get into the voice acting for this translation.

Hello? Sorry for intruding, I'm new here. I'd just like to ask, is there any version of a patch that doesn't translate the Bon-Odori visuals?

Yes. If you would like to see what each translation means literally, you can look at the source for our patch. That line, "...But I wish the commander wouldn't speak in Japanese." is very different from the original text. Most of our translations are very similar to the original text.

thanks, i understanded it as a joke, because its really hard to make a voice which fits in the game...

it would be ironic if the original Japanese description in the karate level said "i wish this song was in japanese"

please continue your work! its very good and funny, i am hoping to get the bonus stuff translated

First, i wanted to say, great job, it looks awesome so far. I had a small issue regarding using the saves from gamefaqs while testing the game on vba. Namely, it says that the 'game' is not the same, (apparently the internal rom name of the rom I am using does not match teh name the sps file might need or something) it's a shame since I kind of wanted a perfect file, the only thing stopping me from all medals are the bon-odori games, and the remixes that include them, haha xD. (And not even going to think about getting perfect medals for those) Is there anything I can do to make those sps files work?

Are you able to patch a rom without using the save files from gamefaqs? Can you use the save files on an unpatched rom? It's not clear to me if the translation patch is responsible for any part of this problem.

Sorry, I should clarify, i can use the patch on the rom, but for some reason the sps file claims the rom is not the 'right one' (the emulator gives that error with a patched, or unpatched rom), I guess it might be the wrong dump? but searched for 2 different ones already and neither worked so far, guess it might be just bad luck on my side. it is not an issue with the translation patch, and did not mean to claim it was. I was just curious if there was something to do to make the sps file work, that's all jaja. That or a save state of someone with full medals and perfects XD. That's all.

you dont need to download the save files, they are completely optional. just patch the rom and go....

Do the save files work on unpatched roms? My guess would be the save files on gamefaqs are the wrong format for whatever emulator you're using. I use VBA and my save files are .sav format (battery backed saves).

My save files work on both patched and unpatched ROMs.

I put it off for an age and a half, but here's the latter half of the game;

Section 5:

Section 6:

Section 7:

Section 8:

There's not much else to cover in terms of translation and such, like the toys and the endless games(two of them are endless versions of main games, Mr. Upbeat which is in US Rhythm Heaven Fever). That said, because this was a fan translation patch (Well done by the way, it's being added to my digital vault with the Ace Attorney Investigations 2 Translation!). So because of it being archived, I could do requests. For now though, I'm content with just the main 8 sections.

I've considered taking down the japanese versions that I already uploaded, but I think I'll keep them up for a while. I'm sure people love options.

A version of Demul has finally been released that supports Rhythm Tengoku. Works pretty well, though the timing feels a bit different and the music got a bit weird in remix 2, like songs were overlapping. Tempo Up mode for the first section of games is interesting

I think the samples are almost all taken from the GBA version, but overall it sounds better because it doesn't have the GBA hiss. Wish it had a music player like the GBA version, but it makes sense for it not to have one.

It would be nice if there was a way to disable the sound effects.
I still want a full, sound effect-less version of Remix 2 (not Remix 7). The Remix 2 midi files I extracted from the GBA version are all 10 second segments that would be a pain to piece back together, and they lack the appropriate samples.

When you say the GBA hiss, do you mean from the GBA's sound hardware or from the bitrate etc of the samples? If the former, might it sound better on a 3ds?

I guess I mean the encoding of the samples. Rhythm Tengoku seems to have better quality samples than games using the sappy engine, but they're still a bit fuzzy a times. And I tried it on my 3ds. It actually sounds rougher than on VBA. I guess AGB_FIRM doesn't do much resampling.

Thank you for the update. Is this new Demul version available publicly anywhere? I have no intention of porting the translation to the Arcade version (other people certainly can if they want: the source has been posted multiple times), but depending on how easy it is to translate the new material (does the tempo up section have new text?), I might look into that. I hope the 3DS Rhythm Heaven game makes it to other countries.
