Question about compatible SATA HDD boards on PS2's Sony's Network Adapter

Do all SATA adapters and SATA HDDs/SSDs/SSHDs (especially 2 TB ones) work on the official Network Adaptor?

Also, how can I add PS1 and PS2 games to the PS2's HDD/SSD/SSHD? Do I always need to take it from the Network Adaptor and connect it to the PC or may it be done without taking it? If the latter, wouldn't it be too slow?

OPL support up to 2TB, there is a limit to how many games that you can install with WinHiip, which is 256 even though there are ways around it. You can use HDL Dump and a batch installer.

You would need a SATA converted PS2 network adapter if you want a SATA drive like the one below.

You need a converted SATA network adapter, the one I shown you is converted, the official one that isn't converted is IDE, largest IDE drive is 750GB, so you need a converted sata network adapter, base on HDL instruction you still need to take out the drive and connect to a computer.

OK, but are there official Network Adaptors already converted to SATA for sale? I asked which SATA adapters were compatible with it since I thought there weren't any.

If so, that's annoying. Is that the fastest way to copy games to and from the PS2's HDD/SSD/SSHD?

SATA doesn't work with IDE connector, so you need the SATA connector if you want to use SATA drive.

The purple board I show you should work with a Sony official PS2 network adapter, As for the drive it doesn't matter as long it is sata. The first picture I shown you was one I had before, different color than what the purple one is, I bought mine already assemble.

Possibly, but regardless of that, IIRC some tested SATA adapters and/or SATA HDDs/SSDs/SSHDs didn't work, 2 TB or smaller ones.

Is there a maximum storage limit for OPL storage if using it via SMB?
