How is the SD card formatted?

Assuming you already have the patches on your SD card to launch backups, it will boot after installation. If you don't have the patches or don't know what they are, you can download them from this thread.

Install the game with TinWoo Installer instead.
i think i missing something i downloaded the new sig patches an quark/gold leaf will not allow me to install based on firmware.

Then maybe the issue lies with the installer. Goldleaf is arguably the worst title installer in the entire Switch scene. I recommend switching to TinWoo Installer.

How do I use save data from games I've played on my emuNAND over to my sysNAND to use it in OFW? I pre-ordered Pokemon: Legends Arceus but played it before the game officially came out on my emuNAND. I thought all save data is stored internally on the Switch so I put the cartridge in while in OFW and saw that I didn't have my save file from my emuNAND. What do I need to do to move over my PLA (and other games I play on my emuNAND) save file from my emuNAND to my sysNAND?

No, it saying it was partially installed meaning you might not have enough space to wherever you are trying to install it to.

You are correct that save data is stored internally but sysMMC and emuMMC are basically like 2 different consoles where sysMMC is your actual physical console & emuMMC is on your SD card. The "internal memory" of your emuMMC is on the SD card, more specifically within the partition. You would have to export the save data from emuMMC and import it to sysMMC with a homebrew save manager.

So would I use Goldleaf to move the save data over? I tried looking through Goldleaf but had no idea what folders would contain my save data and which folder of numbers corresponded with which game. Also, can I do this in my emuMMC or do I have to boot up my sysMMC into CFW to use Checkpoint? I've never ran CFW outside my emuMMC but from what I've learned is that you want to avoid running it in sysMMC.

And you are choosing the destination as your SD card when installing it correct?

No, Goldleaf is a title manager; its function is to install & manage titles. You need a homebrew save manager such as JKSV or Checkpoint. Also you have to boot CFW because emuMMC & sysMMC act like 2 different consoles; you would need a save manager to move save data between 2 consoles much like moving save data between sysMMC & emuMMC.

Personally, I try to avoid spreading any opinions & only stick to the facts. Problem is I can't speak for the rest of the community.
I have kind of an odd question. I noticed when moving around my save data that it had been stored on the System Memory instead of the SD card by default. I had installed an Animal Crossing NSP on the emuMMC, that had an "Invalid NCA Signature". Seems that it comes from data corruption.

Am I likely to get banned going online since I had a Save File from a game I didnt own? Or is that what the emuMMC is for since I was running the game in an emulated environment? No games were installed to System Memory.

Is there a way for me to have all save data saved to the SD Card by default? I feel like its unlikely that save files would be in the telemetry logs.

Edit: I don't plan on ever connecting to the Nintendo network on this device. I know that wouldn't stop hardware telemetry logs for other things though.

Ok so I load up emuMMC, backup my PLA save in Checkpoint, then load up sysMMC, replace the save I create in OFW with my emuMMC save in Checkpoint, and then I'm done? Don't I run a big risk at getting banned for running CFW in sysMMC though?

Have you checked to see if your SD card is fake or not? If not, use a tool such as FakeFlashTest to test the validity. Even trustworthy resellers have sold fake SD cards.

Save data can only ever be stored within the internal memory. It can never be stored on the SD card. Nintendo explicitly mentions this on their website.

Yes, you do run the risk of getting banned if you go through the process.

Your firmware is fine and your patches are working otherwise the game wouldn't even install. What worries me is that it was partially installed which is either a problem with the SD card or the dump.
