Hacking Official CBHC v1.6 - ColdBoot HaxChi CFW

Question guys. I am working on a Wii U, I was simply adding games to it as it had already been modded before. It was running CBHC, but I accidentally tapped the "Haxchi" icon in Homebrew channel. And now it doesn't wanna boot to the menu, it will go to the HBC if I hold A on boot, but I'll will show the wii u logo, go black, and just keep repeating this process and im afraid ive bricked it at this point because it tried to install Haxchi over CBHC. Is this console done for?

afaik, you wouldn't brick from hitting the cbhc icon.

Why? It is just firmware spoofing.

But yet this is no protection at all, Wii U is still updating to 5.5.5. when im on 99.99.99.

It's not supposed to be protection - it's just a visual reminder that you're on cfw.

This number shouldn't be any sort of protection. It's just an indicator that you're on cfw (as stated above). Either way, it shouldn't disturb you. This is only visible in the system settings or when you get an error code.

Nintendo doesn't plan to shutdown the servers for now. I dunno why the ppl think that...

Bans on the wii u doesn't really exist. Even pirated games works online.

Hi, a friend of mine gave me his WiiU that he hasn't been using since forever. There are a couple of things i am kind of clueless about, and i tried to gather as much info as possible in this and other forums, but now i am kind of stuck. The only real staring point i had was this "CBHC" notification during boot, so i thought i might put my question in here. If that's a bad idea, please advise me where to do it instead, thank you.

so here it is: There is a pirated game on the console, which i can play without problems. There is also an app called homebrewchannel which does nothing really, but that's most likely because there is no SD card in the system. He also gave me like 7-8 original games on discs with the console. However, i can start only one of these discs and play. All the other ones are requesting to update, which fails because i didn't connect the system to the internet (yet). So, what exactly is happening here? Do i need to boot into another CFW to play these games? Can i just update these games via the official way?

Edit: The fw version is stated with 99.99.99, but this is also just "cosmetic", correct? Is there a way to find out the actual fw version?

When i try to start the game now it will ask for a system update. I read in this thread that it is safe to update the system, i will just need to run CBHC installer and reinstall it, is that correct? Or are there any gotchas I am missing ?

Nope. That is correct. But there is technically no reason to update. Even with a dns block, you can play online. Only thing which doesn't work, is the eshop. This requires the nnu patcher beforehand.
