Whenever i try the browser step because my gamepad screen is broken i hit cancel when it asks me to turn on the gamepad,
and then it asks me to insert a fat32 formatted sd card even though i know i have a fat32 sd card.
would please be so kind as to tell me why this is?

I ran the indexiine-installer, and rebooted my wii u several times, and have waited over a minute after opening the browser. It never launches the homebrew launcher automatically. I still have to tap the button for it to start.
Any help?

not really, the system app that launches when the wii u turns on mounts the sdcard and some other stuff, if you boot directly to the browser it cant load the sdcard stuff (actually i believe it just crashes when the exploit is triggered), also iirc when you boot directly to the browser you cant quit to the menu.
Its not really "unsafe" to try this if you add a timer to the exploit launching process in the homepage, its just a pain in the ass to recover.
my last toughts about this was maybe instead of having an exploit payload that loads mocha/hblauncer from the sd, have a payload that is mocha itself when the exploit is triggered (this was the way the original browser exploit worked wayback (not with mocha)), but even then there are some routines that payload would have to do and the payload doesnt work if its too big(thats why the only thing it does is look for a file on the sd), rendering it kinda impossible.
I have the same problem. Installed indexiine using the wiiu.hacks.guide and it doesn't work. It only worked the first time I tried to open the browser. I didn't modify the SD card after that so all required files should still be there.
I haven't met a single person who actually has installed this without issue. The discord server was no help either since apparently nobody there used it when I asked. Very curious what's going on with indexiine and why it won't work.
The wiiu hacks guide is incomplete, i suggest you check the link i just updated on the first post of this thread, it works very consistently.
Also dont forget to enable quick start menu to launch the internet browser directly for a cbhc like experience

Do you mean the link in the first line? wiiu hacks guide uses indexiine installer too. i think i'll try your guide instead. But I don't know how to open the mii maker in the browser without exiting it.
what a headache to setup i thought few times that i rendered the web browser useless !! but i finally managed it on 5.4E Wii U. the web browser folder path & id for EU consoles is /storage_mlc/sys/title/00050030/1001220a/content/pages
How reliable is this offline exploit? Does the browser still crash from time to time like the online version?
Unfortunately indexiine fails if gamepad is not present.
Haxchi needs a gamepad too, out of the box. But, can be tricked to be gamepad-free, as described here

Hi.. I have a problem, i think i have Soft-Bricked my Wii U.. But not with your tutorial, but with a guy who make tutorial who wont work :/ Have a way to repair that.. ? Or to access to Mocha/Homebrew Launcher without Internet Browser ?... (I don't have Haxchi or CBHC)

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here. -

I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
