Yeah, that's a bit misleading. You see, the executable is for the complete game, so changing that value does indeed make it full version, but the game is missing 2GB's of romFS resource files and so is not complete. There's room for confusion there.

I don't recommend the use of the second patch. This remove the limit of the demo version so you can go anywhere also sites that don't are in the files of the demo and then the game crash.

I only patched the CheckTrialTimeOver-check and that worked on its own!

EDIT: Sorry, I was wrong, I didn't check properly. Both patches are needed.

I just did that. Money value is in the save file at offset 3B0, little endian

hm, odd, the value there does match my amount of money (C409 -> 9c4 = 2500) I tried changing it to FF FF (65535) and when I try to load the save it just restarts the game, shows credits and back to menu.... but the music still playing...

could it be because I'm in a "story", acquiring a new character?

That's a good question, I don't actually know. I'm still pissing about with the thief in the first town, so I've not gotten as far as you. Guess the best bet is to make a dump, note the value, change it, make another dump, and compare the values.

yeah that was it, after returning to "normal" gameplay, I saved again and my money went back to what I have in the "real" part of the game, I confirmed the same are in the file also changed, and now I could edit it and the save would load, awesome! do you know what the max is? are we limited to FF FF or can be write even bigger? FF FF FF? or is the max something like 99,999? 999,999? I'll test myself eventually but since I'm already typing out a reply... might as well ask lol. busy playing now!

Max is 9,999,999 - I changed mine to FF FF FF and then sold something, dropped me to max.

ok cool! I did that in pokemon quest and it didn't know how to handle it, displayed a random number with a ? as the very first and acted as if I had 0. lol!

Well, I've been playing the demo for 7 hours and still haven't encountered a crash. I think that as long as you don't go to unimplemented(Chapter 2) regions, it won't be a problem.
By the way, I confirmed Omno's patch working with the Japanese version of the demo. I just had to rename the titleid folder to "010086D00B3D2000".

fair enough, but it seems there's other dungeons along the chapter 1 path that are also closed off normally, that you might be able to attempt to enter? I'm not sure. as long as you save often it's up to you I guess hehe. I only play with the trial-time patch.
