I just grabbed a second hand vita thinking I don't even care about the firmware and to my surprise I opened it and it's on 1.69. What do I do to hack it as I literally don't want to mess this up. These are hard to get and I only have the one chance with it basically. It's a fat 3g model. Just need to get to exactly 3.60 somehow right?

I'll have to check mine when I get home, I know i just synced my trophies the other night from playing Uncharted. Try 3.63 out of curiosity, if that doesn't work try 3.65 and if no luck try 3.67.

But yes just a manual update and change the numbers

OK I seem to have everything done but that pkgi is giving me an error about the config file. I placed it in ux0:Pkgi/config.txt and I have it in the right format but still receive an error. Not to sure what that's about. Also yeah I'll be buying an sd2vita it's a good investment :)

do you have the url in the txt file?
Good choice I am using an official 64gb card in my vita and a sd2vita with 64gb micro sd in my pstv

Have you read over / tried this?

Q: How do I use pkgi (freeshop for the Vita) to download games right on to my Vita?
  • A. Making sure you have NoNpDRM working prior to this, get it from here and enter this line in as the only line in config.txt:
url https://nopaystation.com/pkgi

Q: I've installed pkgi and set it up with the NoPayStation link, but it does not work. It says "install failed" when trying to download the game.
  • A1: Your NoNPDRM plugin might cause this issue. Check your config.txt and make sure the plugin is listed there correctly.

  • A2: Try changing the plugin's path in ur0/ux0:tai to "ur0:/tai/nonpdrm.skprx" or "ux0:/tai/nonpdrm.skrpx", wherever it's placed.

  • A3: There is an issue with size (you need to check it out on pkgi's github, I'm not sure) some people are experiencing.

  • A4: If everything fails, it may be that the zrif is invalid. Use NPS browser on your PC instead (as a bonus you get access to PSP/PSX/PS3 titles and DLCs (including Vita DLCs)

I put the nonpdrm in the ux0:tai folder because it said to do that but should it be ur0:tai by any chance? Using an 8gb normal vita memory card. I have the url set up with url at the beginning and a line break in the correct format but it still won't work. Also is it normal to have to reinstall the molecule program every time on reboot to make homebrew work?

yes, place nonpdrm in ur0:tai and have the config.txt to reflect that. that way if you change memory cards, you won't run into issues. not sure what url you mean. and, no, that's not normal. maybe you're using henkaku? it's a kernel plugin, so you need enso.

Ah right that explains it then. I feel dumb now. Just installed enso there now :)
I'm still having the problem with pkgi though and I do have it in the right format but I still keep getting the error on that.

what's the error? pkgi will throw up an error if there's no pkgi.txt in the pkgi folder.
OK I done that and now with pkgi.txt it says "No Items!" instead. I seen that all you needed was a url in config.txt and it would automatically get the list instead of pkgi.txt. I must be doing something wrong.

you might be better off looking for a compiled pkgi.txt. it requires more than the sony url if that's what you mean.

you need to copy and paste that into a text file named pkgi.txt or save that link as pkgi.txt.
Seems to be the only way it works. I don't know why they're saying to just use the url because it won't work. Is changing the memory card hard to do as in setting stuff up again?

You will not be able to play any recent games (late 2016 and newer) on 3.60, if you don't care about it, well, the 3G OLEDmodel is pretty neat for emulation I guess, since you can replace the 3G for a micro sd slot.
