I'm afeared that my Switch got bricked somehow.

I put it into the dock yesterday evening, and just took it out today. All I get on it is a black screen; I can still pull up things like the Quick Menu, but "Sleep Mode" doesn't do anything.

Pressing the Power button to put it into Sleep Mode does nothing. :[

Holding the Power button still kicks up ITS respective menu: but again, the Power Options (Restart and Turn Off) do nothing; selecting Sleep Mode from THIS menu ALSO does nothing, but leaves the menu there until you hold the Home Button to bring up the Quick Menu.

The only thing I did yesterday was make a new User, link it to a Nintendo Account (with the Region set to Japan), and downloaded the Japan-only demos for Dragon Quest Heroes I+II and Sonic Forces, plus the Niconico application.

Currently, I'm letting the battery drain to 0% in hopes that it will automatically shut down and allow me to reboot it. In the mean time: does anyone know if I might be able to fix this? D:

Keep holding the power button until it turns off. I think it takes 15 seconds or so but I'm not sure.

Take the back off and unplug the battery?
Alas, the Switch hasn't a removable battery… :( I'd have to dismantle the console to take out the battery, and I'd rather not risk voiding the warranty in the event that this can't be fixed in a simple way. (I learned that the hard way with one of my 3DSes. ;_;) If this were a "New" 3DS, though, that's the first thing I would've done, and it would've probably fixed everything. :)

Just hold the power button till it turns off

Yep hold power until it turns off, it's hard locked. Had the same thing happen a few weeks back.

(12 Seconds)
That worked! :D Thank you muchly! …I honestly hadn't remembered that that was a thing; my Switch is working correctly now. :)
