Damn, should just set everything to Wii U widescreen :/, will have to reinject the games that support widescreen in settings (like F-Zero). Great :/

Unless you forced 4:3 while building your title, you should just be able to turn on the WiiU Widescreen option in your config. If you forced 4:3, then yes you will have to rebuild it.

That's why when I inject games I don't make use of any of that... I let them just to use my regular basic configuration.. the only ones that you will need to force them to 4:3 are the RE:Zero, RE: Remake, RE: 2 and RE: 3, hope it helps.

If the title is built with 4:3 forced off and Wii U widescreen option in nintendont, it will only display in widescreen (for that game)? Or the aspect will change depending the settings you put in game?

Just a quick question about the Wii remote emulation, Does it also support games that involve shaking the wiimote?
Nope, no motion or pointing at all. The joystick doesn't work either, so you have to use the D-Pad. Really not useful for many games at all.

Saying no to 4:3 doesn't "Force it off". It just uses the normal autobooter that does whatever you tell it to in the configuration file nincfg.bin.

What are the RE games like at full screen? Are they playable? Just asking because Im in the middle of converting RE2 with force 4.3 disabled.

you can leave force widescreen on as nintendont has a list of games where it will just be ignored when its enabled.
https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/kernel/PatchWidescreen.c#L496-L571
So if we enable Force Widescreen and boot any of those games, Nintendont will simply ignore the Forced Widescreen?
If that's so, and if it's not too much to ask, may I suggest adding the following games to the list as well?
  • Resident Evil Remake
  • Resident Evil Zero
  • Resident Evil 2
  • Resident Evil 3
Basically all of those use prerendered backgrounds, which use 4:3 images.
Even though the Widescreen patch does indeed skin down the 3D models, the objects and characters do not line up with the background images, so having Forced Widescreen disabled for those 4 games would be ideal.

maybe this is a bug in the current nintndont version.
did you try deleting the nincfg.bin file and trying again on vWii ? just to know if the problem exists only if you have a residual config generated from WiiU VC.

this way you'll know if it's a bug listing SD/USB, or if it's caused by the config and previous autobooted game.
I will have ago deleting the nincfg.bin file of the sd card to see if that solves the issue. I think maybe like the other member mentioned putting a game.iso in the game/ folder may stop the problem I did delete the game folder before I last used the sd card because I had all my GC titles installed on the usb but I'm sure it worked before on the other sd card which never had any games on it I will try tomorrow to find out. Maybe fix94 can solve the issue in an update.

Could I make a suggestion please for a new commit with this app or is it Nintendont that needs this, I'm not sure?.

Can anyone make it so with Super Mario Sunshine you can change the camera setting to the correct direction, which would be the yellow c-stick on your gamecube controller, it goes at the moment from right>left & left>right, which is really annoying because you use your camera stick so much in Super Mario Sunshine I know you can use a button so it goes directly onto your direction of choice but its not the same. Can this be done at all? I found chasing Metal Mario around at the beginning of the game a mission!

So if I understand this correctly, nintendont_force_4_by_3_autobooter overrides "Force Widescreen" and "WiiU Widescreen" in nincfg.bin, so I use it for all 4:3 games (I only want native ARs).
For games with 16:9 support like F-Zero GX and Eternal Darkness I use nintendont_default_autobooter and activate "Force Widescreen" and "WiiU Widescreen" in nincfg.bin.

I tried to use the script for Mario Strikers Charged (wii) but the packed files generated were only 10 Mb.
I tried using ISO file, and with other source, wbfs file.

Anyone had success with this game?

It's officially released by Nintendo. Get it off USB helper. I know that doesn't help your original problem but you've obviously done something wrong. If your wanting to know whats wrong upload your log and error files from the script folder for the op to look at.

Someone else is getting no video only audio when booting a game? It happened to me a couple of times, but it's random it seems, sometimes it boots fine other black screen no video signal only audio, the buttons work fine though.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
