Yeah, I don't think we'd have any luck spoofing Internet time. What are ways to reset the stored internet time?

Battery removal? Console reset?

If it's working on 1.0 consoles, then they may never have been online and have never stored an "internet date"

Record from nes/emulator, edited video then uploaded to youtube, play through browser (if on lower firmware)
C'mon, trust me, it's not that easy to put the joycon icon in the corner, definitely not through video editing (not while having it look as legit as in the vid), and did he really go through the trouble of hacking the ROM to put it there just to fake this? I'm gonna say no

That's what I'm thinking here:

I want to test but can't for a few hours. It isn't too hard to get to battery, just requires that dang Tri-Wing screwdriver.

If you're able to test, please let us know what you find! I don't see any kind of CMOS-like battery on the board, but to be safe, I'd press the power button on the Switch for a second to discharge any additional juice the system is storing once the battery is disconnected.

Since most people tend to not go BACK in a thread, @delta nite with video just updated his post:
Ok. I followed the steps from Switchbrew. My console is on 1.0.0 and has never been connected. I set the date as 07/11/2017, did the "Directly to you!" pose at the Home Menu, tried it a couple times and the screen faded to black, then the game booted. When I pressed ZL, japanese text popped up above the joycon icons. Tryed to play for a bit but couldn't understand the controls, motion controls did nothing.
Then I put the console to sleep. Upon waking up, I was at the Home Menu again. Couldn't reproduce it even after trying for a good 10 minutes.

you do realize the "port" of the game is a remake? the graphics are much different, colors are different, the map is different.
Honestly? No. I did not know that. So I guess it most likely is real then.

Best get on recording how to start it so! Someone, anyone! :P

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
