Been using luma for a little bit now I have a gateway, and a dstwo are they useless now?
Is there some other reason that I need to keep them?

Gateway's cheat engine is far and away the best available currently. Is it worth buying a new Gateway for? If you don't have the expendable income, then no. That said, I use B9S + Gateway on 11.2 Sysnand. I get the best of both worlds, with effectively zero downside. I have ctr-httpwn for eshop and online functions and none of the issues that 11.3 had. Additionally, should a post 11.4 update be released, I will still have ctr-httpwn available to me as it was broken with 11.4.Been using luma for a little bit now I have a gateway, and a dstwo are they useless now?

But you can do the same on cfw and without gateway -> so waste of moneyGateway's cheat engine is far and away the best available currently. Is it worth buying a new Gateway for? So, if you're using Gateway cheats (and if you're using cheats, you should be if you have one), 11.2 + CFW really is the best bang for your buck. Even if you're on newer firmware, dropping to 11.2 is quite easy.
You are not satisfied with 3-7 hours of play time? The battery drain on the 3DS does suck though.
What part of "Is it worth buying a new Gateway for? If you don't have the expendable income, then no." was unclear in my post, Sparky? No one is advocating someone go out and buy a new Gateway. If you already have one, and you want to, or plan to, use cheats, then it's worth continuing to use it.But you can do the same on cfw and without gateway -> so waste of money
Even if you have the money, you can do the same on cfw for free. I never said it is not worth it when you already have one. so there is no point of getting it, unless you already own itWhat part of "Is it worth buying a new Gateway for? Actually it's rarely the gameplay that kills it, it's sleep mode. When the system is in sleep mode, it still continues to provide power to the DSTWO's CPU. This actually causes a huge cut in the 3DS's battery life when in sleep mode with the DSTWO in the system. You are not satisfied with 3-7 hours of play time?
Though I think that is only a problem when in 3DS mode because the home menu (or a related component) keeps scanning the cart in the background. In DS mode, it should be no problem.Actually it's rarely the gameplay that kills it, it's sleep mode. When the system is in sleep mode, it still continues to provide power to the DSTWO's CPU. I actually stopped using my DSTWO because of this and started using my R4i Gold. Which has now been replaced with my AK2i.
It certainly doesn't make much sense to buy one anymore, but I'm still happily using mine with B9S, and rarely ever boot into Luma. I do wish they would release the damn 11.4 update though, getting tired of using ctr-httpwn. Other than that, there's not really anything that Gateway is missing that I consider important. I rarely use my 3DS anyways.Outside of the cheat function, I really wouldn't recommend Gateway anymore. Everyday Gateway grows more and more out of date.
The DSTwo is good for DS games and the GBA/SNES emulator for the DSTWO are both quite nice. The battery drain on the 3DS does suck though.
It's kind of a tricky question as far as Gateway goes. It does have .3DS ROM support and cheats going for it, but if you're not actually making cheats and you're happy with what's available on FreeShop and how long it takes to download/install games with it, then there's no real reason to stick with Gateway, unless you're just too lazy to convert all your saves like me, but at the same time there's not a lot of reasons to switch away from it either at least for me, 11.4 support is the big one but I use my 3DS so rarely I can deal with using ctr-httpwn every once in a while.Been using luma for a little bit now I have a gateway, and a dstwo are they useless now?

With regards to my statement, "if you have the money", it's aimed more at those with more money than time, where $100 barely qualifies as an expense, and you want to use it because you don't like that one shop app because it's slow, or you don't like manually loading up .cias. There's also the case to be made if you're an active cheat hunter and want a far easier method of searching for them. Seriously tho, those ridiculous outliers aside, no one is effectively advocating that position, including me. Feel free to stand down - no one is hurting your precious deity that is CFW. We all like and enjoy it.Even if you have the money, you can do the same on cfw for free. I should run some tests if I ever get several days/hours to actually time my system's battery with it. I know with my old3DS it lasts about 3 to 4 hours in sleepmode with the DSTWO, because my system would normally die right as I went to lunch (which is always about 4 hours into my shift.)Though I think that is only a problem when in 3DS mode because the home menu (or a related component) keeps scanning the cart in the background. .3DS roms are just really convenient, not quite as convenient as FreeShop but FreeShop takes longer to download/install a game and not everything is on there.
