For this do we still need the otherapp payload in the hbloader folder? Also for the old 3ds/2ds do you need to download the 11.2 and rename it to 11.4 or is that no longer needed?

I'm currently on 11.3 on my 2ds but looking to upgrade to 11.4, have updated a9lh to b9s 1.2 and luma 8.0 with the v2.0 or whether the hbl is.

ok so i'm having a problem updating boot9strap. I get to the step that says "Reboot holding (Start) during boot to launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu" but the chainmenu never loads, so i can't do the next steps

Did you manage to load the chain loader initially to run the safeb9sinstaller? If so then you can run fbi and copy the boot.firm to the ctr-nand, after that rebooting with start held will launch godmode9 and you can carry on even tho it doesn't give the chain loader.

Updated with no issues. Hbl works like an app now instead of the old payload thing that would often crash or get patched.

The only complaint I have with the Rosalina HBL is that, most Homebrew apps let you exit back to the homebrew launcher.

For example, my homebrew requires Touch Screen use to exit back to HBL, but now it just goes to home menu. This really sucks. Hopefully they can implement a way to return to HBL

I'm a having a problem with this homebrew launcher because when I try to boot a .3dsx file my 3ds crashes. Also when I use Freeshop my 3ds crashes. Also for whatever reason my homebrew launcher still has the old homebrew launcher logo. Here is an informative diagram!|

Copy the boot.3dsx to the root of the SD. The problem is that you are using 1.1.1 not 2.0

This is a great work.

But I've got one question. Is there any reason to still use .3dsx apps today, especially if you are on 11.4 SysNAND with Luma3DS + boot9strap?? I mean, isn't .3dsx a bit obsolete?

I think it is. But ive seen a few things still around that are just .3dsx, and any userland hb people out there still need these

This is more for people that want to hide from Nintendo. It is kind of outdated, but not enough to warrant avoiding it completely. For example, some emulators in .3dsx form aren't as fast as their .CIA counterparts because .CIA allows dynarec usage... However, most homebrew apps run fine from HBL, making it a good option for those who don't want Nintendo finding out that they've been using homebrew...

Tested it yesterday, deleted the payload folder, loads fine without it, doesn't create a new one, so, yay, cleaner root folder.
