That's not the file system, I need to know what's after "titleid/romfs/" in the actual Smash romfs.
THAT I cannot help with. You may be able to get it by dumping the Smash game (not to CIA or 3DS.) and examining the folder structure.

Then why don't you test Luma's LayeredFS for yourself and see if it actually works instead of asking others to do it for you? It's not that difficult and it's very lazy of you to not test it yourself.
He thinks it will fuck up his game or mess up his sd card

You don't need a new app, you only need the code.bin which will go into a folder.
Its literally exactly the same as the LayeredFS way, but with one extra step.
If I remember correctly, Smash-Selector is required.

Smash-Selector make it easier to use multiple mod packs at once.
For example you can have a mod pack, stock non modded game, and a bunch of random mods separately.
Its not required.

If someone will get me the romfs folder structure, I will try.

Oh, so it ISN'T required? Cool. How would I toggle SaltySD?

You can use the app to get the code.bin, and thats it. Luma will handle it from then on, and you can delete the app if wanted.

I said how to toggle SaltySD. Not how to get code.bin.

The external .code feature allows you to use patched binaries for games. To use it:
  • Create a folder named titles inside luma.
  • Create a folder with the game's title id as the name (look them up on www.3dsdb.com) inside titles.
  • Obtain a patched code.bin for the game, and rename it with game's title id as the file name (look them up on www.3dsdb.com).
  • For example, to use a patched binary with Pokémon™ Y, rename it to code.bin and put it in 0004000000055E00.

I'm not really willing to dump my cartridge and wait an hour to extract the romfs content, sorry bud.

I've never actually tried it out but I remember seeing some other people say that it does work.

I have a lot of extra time. I may as well. If I can dump my digital copy, I'll put the folder structure here.

It will/won't.
For SSB3DS to load mods such as custom textures or skins, it is required that you either use a modified code.bin or a repacked dt/ls file. The dt/ls file can be unpacked but not repacked. However, music mods and the such can be used with layeredfs, however it is easier to just do the whole thing via SaltySD.

Like others have said, use the modified code.bin and then you are golden. There is no point in using LayeredFS.

Download the code.bin, put in the right place, then use saltysd.

That answers your question.

I'm worried that the code.bin will break LayeredFS for games such as Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Also, never mind on that romfs folder structure. It has been rendered useless due to the above post.
