I'd love a guild for this i tried making the folder and renaming but nothing still comes up might be my only hope thanks to the amiibo-files.zip being dead i hate to think i wasted $30 bucks for nothing on powersaves and can't use it
EDIT*
i got it to work without all these programs this what you do use the solfware for powersaves put power tag on the powersave and make a amiibo save. it will be useless but i think it'll make this folder for you C:\Users\USERNAME\PowerSaves For AMIIBO\
when it save your new useless amiibo save idk for sure cause i made mine before now put your download bins in this folder and you can load some of them. if you can't make one with whatever name you want and copy the name it gives you for your empty bin and rename the one you couldn't load and replace the empty one with the new on load right up i downloaded all the new zelda ones and they all work perfectly also i loaded up a bunch of ssb ones and you get stuff for them in Zelda as well very happy i paid $30 bucks for this well worth it!
This was perfect, it worked for me
if it's not against the forum rules, can you maybe drop us a link? I tried, but it's hard to search for powertag (lots of other unrelated products with that name) and if I search powersave i just get the unit itself. I'd be interested in buying a few more powertags if they weren't super expensiveBy the way I wrote a letter to datel and asked if they could sell the power tags seperately for a fair price and they did. so now on ebay you find more powertags ;D as I didnt want to switch each time the amiibo on the Tag.
there is an extremely easy way to use powersaves and will save you a TON of time. All you need to do is go to that 3D iso site you know the one and download there updated pack of amiibo bins. Then add "A_90b1b81c_2017-01-23_" minus the quotations to the front of every amiibo bin and place them in C:\Users\"username"\Powersaves For AMIIBO\ They will then all show up in the powersaves program. bulk rename utility works wonders for this. using the prefix option. If you would like a full written tutorial I can gladly write one up.
So Iv'e been sitting here for 5 hours trying to write .BINs to my newly aquired NTAG215s from Aliexpress with my powersaves doohickey just to find out this isnt the right tags???? What the heck do I need to be able to do this? The powertag chip that came with the powersaves device worked fine to write a wolf 20 heart amiibo to but why won't these other NTAG215s I have work with powersaves device? What do I need?
As noted in the 5th post of this thread:So Iv'e been sitting here for 5 hours trying to write .BINs to my newly aquired NTAG215s from Aliexpress with my powersaves doohickey just to find out this isnt the right tags?
It's not that they aren't the right tags for making Amiibos, it's just that the Powersaves unit wasn't made for writing to blank tags. (Did someone tell you otherwise?)Already tried it, half of the time it just doesn't work and the other half just destroys the NTAG215 tag.
Hey quick question, looking at buying the PowerSave with Powerchip. If I understand you correctly, you're telling me that all I need to do is get Powersave installed on the computer, then create a folder C:\Users\"username"\Powersaves For AMIIBO\
After creating said folder, download .bin files from location (I've found a site with them) and put the "A_90b1b81c_2017-01-23_" in front of the name of the .bin file and my powersave will read them and be able to load them on the Powerchip? Thanks for all the help, I'm looking to invest in this and just want to make sure I don't have to go through the complicated process that OP was entailing.
are you sure that'll work even if you get the legit kind?Make sure they're actually Ntag215, I've noticed a lot of the ones on AliExpress say "ntag213 just as good as ntag215" or something similar
There's another thread besides this that seems to imply that, but if you look closely it actually says you have to use an android to write to these tags. Still, if someone could say for sure whether powersaves works, I wouldn't be shocked if it did. It writes to the powertag after all.As noted in the 5th post of this thread:It's not that they aren't the right tags for making Amiibos, it's just that the Powersaves unit wasn't made for writing to blank tags. There are so many ways this could be broken. Conceptually, the powersaves/powertag doesn't have to strictly follow NTAG rules. It only has to respond properly when a Nintendo unit reads and writes to it. It can cheat as much as it wants outside of that. So datel could have an initialization sequence that says: Write all 00s. Lock all pages. Datel_Force_Unlock all pages. Write the bin file. (I just made that up as an example.) If something like that were executed to a real NTAG215, where you can't unlock something after it's locked, you'd end up with a tag that is all 00s, and permanently locked.Ok so what is pre written to power tags to allow it to be ready to go out of the box?? I guess this is where I am confused. If it's just something written to it that makes it ready how do you prep a ntag215 in the same way?
