only thing i use that has an ugly Homebrew launch screen is the homebrew launcher within Luma, barely use it though

So there is absolutely no way to edit it slightly so the word "homebrew" lasts a bit longer? It just feels like it ends way too quickly is all.
Already tried, but the only way is by making the wave animation faster, which doesn't look very good... I have 100 frames (60frames/sec) which will be surely visible, after that the time it takes is random depending in your 3ds specs.

What do you use to modify the clan/clyt? I'm fine with pulling apart the logo.bin and modifying the layout and animation files in hex, but is it well-documented? Or do you use an application to edit/compile to it?

Awesome! Would be cool if you made custom ones (for specific apps). Like maybe there could be an FBI one where the background is white, the waves are the purplish blueish colour you see on the FBI logo and of course the Homebrew logo would be the FBI logo. I'd think that'd look sweet.

looks great but to be quite honest i wish they went back to sticking with the regular 3ds boot animation lol
or maybe the 3ds boot animation but with Nintendo 3DS replaced with homebrew and the red replaced with blue.

@PabloMK7 I'm one of the designers for THL ;)
When I designed the background I initially wanted a little boot animation, it looks a bit rushed but at the time it was a prototype. Looking back at it now I can see so many mistakes :P.

The only problem to me was the "h" in "homebrew" being lower case. xD
For the rest, the animation speed and everything else, it is good as is.

Great job

wow I love that animation :D
Sadly I don't think it could be made into a logo.

Maybe I can add some color gradients, and make another layer of bubbles scrolling slower, cannot add more textures tho.
I think the biggest "problem" I have with the bubbles currently is that they all move the same speed, and they move straight up instead of going a little back and forth. Now I don't know what the capabilities are, but the closer it looks to the Homebrew Launchers bubbles (or The Homebrew Channels bubbels movement) the better IMO. But again I don't know the technical details so that might not be possible.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Can't change the animation speed, the app will start before the animation has had any change to be played fully. You don't have much time interval, the logo was never meant to be edited. :P
The 3ds decides when to start/stop playing the animation, the time it takes can be between 1.6 seconds (New3DS best SD card) and infinite (if the app crashes)
You can still slow down the animation. But there just happens less. Basically the same animation length but certain parts move less far, thus less quickly in the same amount of time.

What's even the point of including that in the SDK if dev's aren't allowed to have custom logo's anyway?
The same format is used all over the place in official titles. (for example, the ingame loading screen in Mario Kart 7, probably the title screens for that and Super Mario 3D Land etc.)

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
