Are there supposed to be two copies for the .bin.iz files? I have both the .bin files and the .bin.iz files after decompressing and recompressing.

I'm not sure what to fix here. The battle models randomized correctly, but the portraits and map sprites haven't changed.

EDIT: Never mind, got it working. Just decompressed and recompressed a fresh set of files and the copies were gone and the randomizer works now!

First of all, don't know if decrypt9 works because I use HANS and braindump, but that shouldn't matter. What version of FEAT are you using? Because it sounds like a problem with that. In addition, try using it on the folder with just the .bin files if you haven't already, because that folder would be the correct result of FEAT.
Im using decrypt9 because FEAT wouldnt work at all from a braindump. Secondly when running feat, it didnt replace the .bin.lz files, it just adder copies of them in .bin and text form. I then copied the folder i just ran feat on, then i manually removed all .bin.lz files and txt files. Randomizer works on neither of the folders and no additional windows appear. (Ill have yet to test what you suggestted, will do when i get home)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I got the same issue after running FEAT once on it. Weird.

It crashed on chapter 4

Provide more details if you asking for assistance since it does not explain the issue you are having.

I don't see it being to big of an issue so long as it runs properly. Managed to finish Revelation without too much difficulty. The main thing that was not going to plan was the sprites and join order.

Question, for those of us who don't have the special addition, but want to randomize our DLC paths, How would I go about dumping the DLC files, Im aware it has something to do with decrypt9, but I cant find a guide that talks about dumping DLC files

You're supposed to choose an option. Of course it's gonna repeat if you don't choose an option. Just choose one.

IM Spamming Enter becuase the only option is yes and no and different file names are popping up. After 5 minutes of that, all the .txt files are gone but nothing else. The .bin.lz still there. Gonna retry it with a different one

Mmm... It would be easier to randomize the Special edition seeing as it would provide the option to randomize those paths. As such, downloading a .cia version of the special edition would provide you with the option to randomize each path BUT ONLY 1. I have yet to test compatibility issues with other paths with already randomized files. As such you will likely have to dump the Special Edition of Fates in order to randomize your other paths like Revelations as an example.

Given the stability of the build however, there will be certain randomization that simply won't work for a certain chapter etc. Through my playthrough it screwed up the join order and sprites so just be prepared for that.

Edit: If you mean DLC maps then, that is outside my expertise.

I honestly never had that issue but it's better to restart the process in that case.

I am. I am now just finished extracting all the romfs from the file i got from decrypt 9. (Only have 1, never got a new one) Im going to sort a folder the right way, then how many times do I have to run FEAT on that folder that the randomizer is supposed to target?

Only once. Doing it again would undo what you just did which defeats the purpose of using it.

Edit: In general you should have a romFS folder that is unmodified to simply future conversions as all you would have to do is copy the folder and include the modified files.

For example:
I extract romFS from game.
I make a copy of romFS (and rename to whatever).
I make a folder called FatesRandom and include the subfolders and files in there.
I run FEAT on FatesRandom to allow the .jar file to read the GameData.
Randomize
Put in romFS copy (Replace files)
Recompress with FEAT.
Build .romfs using THE ENTIRE MODIFIED FOLDER.
Utilize proper coding for software you plan on running it.
- Eg. 00179400.romfs for US birthright as mentioned by OP, 00179800.romfs for US Special Fates

Read the GameData? Is that what you're supposed to target with the .jar file? I gotta try that. I have the romFS folder and got everything from it into the correct order, gonna try running the randomizer now
EDIT: I ran the randomizer on the folder, nothing happend. It targeted a .txt file in the m/@E, i have run FEAT once on the files i got from the romfs
EDIT: Ran randomizer, it missed the @e file, named the @u to @e, then it changed to missing the: GameData/Dispos/C/C007.bin file. I cant find a C directory in dispos, only A and I cant locate a C007.bin file either

The randomizer cant find the GameData/Dispos/C/C007.bin file. Its only an A folder and the only C bin files i find is the C006 files, nothing with 7 and C. Insights?
EDIT: The files exist, but they're all called A instead of C. Do i just rename them?

Nonono... You run the .jar on FatesRandom which will allow it to read the necessary files located in the GameData folder.

Also can someone remind me how to do spoiler tags again.

Um, which path are you trying to randomize and what game did you dump.
EDIT: The only possible way for this to occur is if you're trying to randomize revelations by my knowledge.

Um, which path are you trying to randomize and what game did you dump.
I dumped an EU version of birthright, with everything else as dlc. Currently i just wanna try dumping birthright as an introductory dump. Maybe revelations or conquest later.

The randomizer will only throw that kind of error if it failed to find any of the files for Birthright or Conquest. Your A files aren't in the location that the randomizer expects them to be.

Well, where are they supposed to be? I dumped birthright and I followed everything correctly with the placements. I have the file the randomizer wants but its name is swapped for A instead of a C like it wants. What do I do?

The randomizer says it requires a GameData/Persons/C/C007.bin file. Nothing big, EXCEPT for the fact that all of my files are labeld A instead of where they would like a C to be. Do i just rename everything or did something go wrong during a earlier process?
