And also, both XB1 and PS4 have paid multiplayer, and nobody cares. These people have to eat too, if you dont want to support the company, then pirate your games and dont buy multiplayer. Or, you could support them.

So what you want is 100% uptime, huge server capacity but you don't want to pay a single cent for it, probably not even for the games, since you'll pirate them as soon as that's possible.
You also want backwards compatibility with Wii U and 3DS games which would need an entirely different architecture which would in turn greatly hinder the development of third party games, which you guys would use to bicker about the lack of such titles.

If gaming is too expensive for you, maybe you should stick to another hobby.

i could have not say better 450 even in Canada i think it is a fair price and for 3rd party it will come Nintendo said it as more than 80 games in development just wait the launch line will be huge too so stop crying peoples and accept the switch as it is! It is a marvelous system portable and people can play with you without the need to buy another controller and you can play in your bed...i mean wtf do people really expect a Nintendo switch for 150$ buck with free internet service and 3ds compatible with x-ray?

No, the launch price of 3ds was 250$ and even Nintendo knew that it was pushing too far with that price so they cut it very quickly.

well they Ok with buying a macbook for 2k and a 4k tv for 3k and a ps4 for 800$ a iphone 7 for 1200$ but a switch for 299$ is TOO MUCH it make me laugh so hard and BTW Nintendo can go bankrupt for 50 years and doing better than ps4-xb1....

Word, I knew it was something fiddy. Anyway, the point of Switch is a unified console. At best they might drop the hardware in it by half and remove the docked part for a strictly portable Switch. Switch Lite or something. I seriously doubt they'll go right back to producing games for multiple different platforms after they're just now moving away from that.

I never argued that they'll do that. I don't think the Switch's gonna do well at all because of its abysmal launch lineup. It'll probably fail and get replaced by a second 3DS.

Well it's already selling out everywhere, and I don't think Nintendo is relying entirely on launch numbers anyway. That's why they planned the Mario game for the holidays, so that they could make a second sales push then.

Yes, abysmal. For comparison, here's the PS4's launch lineup and here's the Xbox One's lineup. Notice how there's more than 2 games?

Notice how theres 3 nintendo games, one of which is "arguably shovelware." the rest is 3rd party. Lets look at the wii: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_launch

The only real nintendo games are Wii Sports, and Twilight Princess, which was "out on another platform."

Also, the wii launched at $250, plus $60 for a second controller. Thats $310 dollars just to play 2 player local play, 10$ more than switch

The launch lineup being small doesn't bother me in the least. By the time April is over Switch will have: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Has Been Heroes, ARMS, Sonic Mania, and Yooka-Laylee. In addition, two launch titles nobody is mentioning are Binding of Isaac and Rayman Legends.

Everybody is just going to be playing open-world Zelda after launch for like 300 hours anyway. No point in having a bunch of other games just sit there.

I don't think people understand fans' concerns regarding the Switch. People immediately conclude that those who are criticising the Switch are just hating on Nintendo, when it's the complete opposite. I for one am afraid that Nintendo may end up dropping out of the console race, because nothing looks good about the Switch, except for that new Mario game and Zelda . I also do not understand how does Nintendo or these third party developers think they can get away with just porting old games which were released a while ago for the PS4, and Xbox One. Mario Kart 8, and Splatoon imo are all ports, with extras, and the sad part is that these two ports will most likely be priced like the other new first party titles.

Charging for online multiplayer is fine as long as it's as good as OR better than Xbox Live or PSN. The system's pricing seems fair, just not the accessories though. However the system's price also depends on whether it will actually receive games, and not ports or remakes. I'm just afraid we'd end up with another 'Wii U'. When the Wii U was announced, we had a hyped up press conference(even better than this one), promises of 'third party' support, and supposedly a Zelda which up until now was not even released.

I have to disagree entirely there, the hardware has a ton of potential. Perhaps even more importantly, it does so many things that XB1/PS4 don't. That's why it appeals to me as a PC gamer, it's not the same type of stationary gaming box, it has different use cases.

MK8 Deluxe is just a game with additions, yeah, but it's 16 new tracks and like 4 new characters. Splatoon is not a port, it's a sequel, Splatoon 2.
