What do you mean? I need to keep it tight? Like tape the wire down?yes, but you want it to be stabilized. Centrifugal force+loose hdd transferring data=VERY BAD
nonono, make sure the hdd is secured in the case so it doesnt wiggle, there should be a drive sled to hold it towards the case/motherboard.What do you mean? I need to keep it tight? Like tape the wire down?
Ok got it, I'll order the drive soon. I should go with the 1TB seagate one as it is only $4 more. But then I will have to re-install Windows 10. (I have a flashdrive with Win10 on it). Thanks for the help. Will update you if it goes well.nonono, make sure the hdd is secured in the case so it doesnt wiggle, there should be a drive sled to hold it towards the case/motherboard.
if you have another pc, there is no need to reinstall as you can clone the drive with any disk cloning tool.Ok got it, I'll order the drive soon. Aren't there some problems when cloning a smaller drive to a larger sized one?judging by your pictures, there are screws in the sides to hold it.

Soldered memory on a big boy laptop with full number pad? This is new to me, or at least something I had not seen in many many years.
No, problems are in opposite direction. Just cone and resize. Use Windows tools to resize the partition, not third-party tools.Aren't there some problems when cloning a smaller drive to a larger sized one?
With this computer I could expand the memory by 8gb. And it has 4gb soldered. This computer is 3 years old.I thought the soldered and removable memory was odd
