Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

So i had asked astronautlevel about this, and he said he will try and see if this is possible but i was curious what others think. With the working non sd luma loading feature, if someone was to create a boot ntr to install on NAND instead of sd, you could just but the NTR firmware bin into the ctrnand along with luma's arm9loaderhax.bin file and load NTR CFW without sd, that is what i was hoping for.

I would have tried this myself except i dunno how, i assume i just need to change the title id of the ntr cia but i dunno how to do that. If i change it to something that fbi would install as a nand app then it probably would just install it correctly, unless there is another way to install homebrew apps as NAND. I could maybe try injecting Health and safety with the ntr boot cia to see if it works as i imagined.

While there was something that had me curious for a while was when luma updated to load firmware files from sd card, would it be possible to somehow load ntr on boot every time without needing to use the boot ntr loader app?

Sorry people but i have a liltle problem... i have upgrade Luma 3ds to 6.5 the first time re-installing only N3DS AGB and N3DS TWL and was all ok.
Unfortunaly i have download the same version a second time with luma updater e here begins the tragedy. I have black screen on boot so i have read the wiki and at the point 2 of the faq i have this:

An exception occurred
Processor: ARM11 (core 1)
Exception tipe: prefetch abort (svcBreak)
Current process: pm

series of numbers and letters
press any key to shutdown

So at this point i follow the guide but at the point 6 the 3ds have the same screen of point 2 and i must turn it off.
Someone can solve my problem???
I have a N3ds XL with a9hl and luma installed in sysNAND

I think it just loads luma as it should but since not having sd (the main reason to use most of its features in the first place) Is just perhaps a region free loader without homebrew. You can still use game carts, but no updates so depends on games really. You can stil play DSIware, but no VC games, and you can still use ds flashcarts. So i guess is very limited.

I had been thinking if is possible to use ntr with the ctrnand without sd, by installing the boot ntr as sysnand title so is on system and not on sd and perhaps it should work. But unless you somehow subsitute SD card necessities with CTR nand access i dunno what else to say, i hope somehow is possible, maybe have some Small game files like VC on there just so you not total lost without any games with no sd card.

does this update require a new a9lh install? it just seems like some of the new features might require a a9lh update

You do need the latest A9LH, which the guide shows you everything that you need to do

No, without the new A9LH though you won't be able to boot Luma from CTRNAND

Just to make sure that I'm understanding you correctly (as I just woke up and my mind is a little mushy), it's safe to update to 6.6 even if I don't have SDless A9LH installed?

I just deleted it and everything seems to function as normal.

It appears to prioritise booting from SD if the file exists on the SD card.

With this update, you really don't need the arm9loaderhax.bin on your SD card.

hello all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I would like to transfer my cia saves that I had when using GW EmuNand to my AL9H cias.

I recently changed from GW to AL9H, but, when re-installing cia's using FBI's, have been unable to access my old saves (tried it with SMT apocalypse). I also noticed on freeshop that it still recognises saves from my previous GW files (I think?) because it asks me if I want to install DLC for them...

I read the guide on transferring saves with .3ds and .3dz files, but since I didn't use the GW cartridge and just usd cias, is it still possible to transfer saves?

When I went to AL9h all my cias were gone from the menu. What's weird is that the space on my SD card has still been taken up somehow, as if all the cias were still downloaded on it.
Could it be that I'm using fbi now to DL cias instead of BBM (which is what I used when I had GW)?

To explain it better, you will always be able to boot Luma from the SD card as you did until now. The new A9LH also allows you to boot it from CTRNAND (which also works when the SD is not plugged in).
