Well it only happened twice, it's not that bad as the emulator works perfectlyProbably. However, it shouldn't be crashing your 3ds... not atari800, at least. As for video playback, it's going better than expected.
On a new 3ds, or old?Well it only happened twice, it's not that bad as the emulator works perfectly
Why would you need a hardware-accelerated ascii renderer?Hopefully. Right now I'm experimenting with a hardware-accelerated ASCII renderer.
Hell yeah! Best demo ever!Well, "soon-ish". atari800-3ds 0.2.0b is now out! It contains many improvements across the entire codebase - an updated emulator core, an improved keyboard, as well as various optimizations. Also, it now comes in a .CIA form as well! I hope you will enjoy the release! Grab it here!
^ Here's a testing friend of mine (I still don't have a 3DS) proving it works!
It's alright! Press L to go into the emulator menu and get some software - I recommend pouet.net, as it's a source of legal, freeware games for various platforms created by the demoscene.
In other news, I'd like to announce the release of my second port!
MegaZeux 3DS!
It's still a bit rough around the edges, but it's fully functional! Download it from here, as usual. (Also, atari800 0.2.1b - it removes 16-bit audio support as it seems to have minor issues on real hardware still.)
One of the curiosities of this port is that it actually has some degree of hardware acceleration (which brings a very large rendering performance boost) - currently for SMZX modes 0 and 1; modes 2 and 3 are planned, but require extra re-working.
