I have a HTC Desire 516 which runs every app I currently want, but if I try to install a game then the warning of 'Insufficient Space' pops up. I've got a 4GB Sandisk micro SD on it so why doesn't it download to the card instead?

Also, I've read to use App Cache-like apps to fix it but it didn't do jack, the problem is still there.

What's the fix, guys»

Well some android/app can't be installed on the SD, but some you can move ... try moving what you already have to make space for that.
Oh, okay. That's how but which folder are the installed apps on? It all looks kinda confusing on the folders.

Oh, no, you don't move them like that.
In the settings menu, you can find your installed software in a big list. Then you tap on an app, and get some info and options. One of those options is to move to the SD card if it's possible, other options there are to uninstall and clear cache and stuff like that.

Turns out the phone I have won't allow me to move apps to the SD so I need to look into unlocking that manually. I'm looking at something Android SDK to quickly enable the feature so that may be it.

If you root your phone you can get Link2SD from the Play Store that automatically moves any app to the SD.

EDIT: Also, the Android OS lets you install apps when you have 400MB or above. The rest must be stored for app data or something.

RE:EDIT : Another Android phone of mine lets me download apps at 200MB or above, so it muat depend on the phone

There is a shitty flaw on Android at least on HTC.. There is no option to save downloads to SD card.. So if you are downloading stuff from your browser like music or apk, it will fill up internal storage.. Of course you can move it later but I had downloads failed because they didn't fit internal storage but my 64gb SD is almost empty

I've tried Link2SD but that didn't work.

HTC Desire 516 is a great phone, however, being unable to move apps to the SD is a completely moronic idea of theirs.

I'm gonna try this method: https://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials...e-android-move-to-sd-card-feature--mobile-862

Question, are you using the free version or the plus version? If the plus version, my question for you does Link2SD allow you to move 100% of the data to the sd card? Cause that's what I need, and if that's what it actually does I'll totally buy the plus version.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
