Apocalypse let you save to the SD on saves 2-5 in the cart version. So if ill buy the digital version and save on save 2 will the cart version will read the save or like other games the saves not compatible?

I just checked; my physical Apocalypse cart read my SMT4 saves off the SD card just fine. I'm not sure what you mean by "saves 2-5", though, because neither my physical SMT4 cart nor the digital version has more than 2 save slots, and both save slots are most definitely on the cartridge. The only Atlus game I know of with saves both on cartridge and SD card is Persona Q. Is this something from the European or Japanese versions?

Oh, I see. I misinterpreted the question. Yes, I believe the digital version will read any saves the cart version puts on the SD card. SD card saves for cartridge games are saved as EXTData, IIRC, and I don't know of any games that actually distinguish between physical and digital EXTData.

Yes, and I'm saying it most likely will. The 3DS, AFAIK, does not differentiate between whether you have a cartridge version or a digital version of the game running. The game likely saves one slot to the save data space, which is specific to whichever version you're using, and then the rest of the slots are actually in the same area/directory as the DLC and updates go, which is read by both physical and digital the same way.

some of the best selling games on the switch are wii u ports (that are priced way too high

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I think we all forgot breath of the wild released for the wii u tbh

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy
