Hi guys,

Although I already made a search about this topic, I usually trust mostly gbatemp... anyway

The context:

My ps2 is scph-90001 and it's modded (Matrix) and I want to play games through USB, is it possible? is it feasible (aka run properly)? If yes, do you have any link / text / indication about the process?

Thanks

There is a USB loader that lets you load games through a USB hard drive. Though its not very really relilable, games will take longer to load than their Disk counterpart. Its better to get a fat ps2 and use OPL with a IDE hard drive.

how about SMB?
IIRC we could use the lan for load games
I haven't actually used that yet. I am intending to set up my Raspberry Pi to stream my games to my PS2 with it, but I haven't gotten around to buying a bigger/faster SD card to do so.

Either will do.

The one with both an ethernet port and dial-up modem is the NA adapter, the one with just an ethernet port is rest of the world. For some strange reason Sony added a dial-up modem to the NA release because of course you want to play online using 56k :rofl2:

Considering at the time most people were still on dialup, yeah, it was that or nothing. Same reason Dreamcast had a dialup modem included, not a BBA. It was actually quite a surprise for MS to make the Xbox ethernet only when it came out.

I'd take nothing over the rediculous latency dial-up gave. MS were correct, sometimes people need to be told what's good for them, rather than ruin it for others. Luckily Sony EU didn't follow.
