The loader should list Wii games, even if you don't have cIOS. You just can't launch them, but they can be listed with IOS58 just fine.
If you don't see the games and they are still on your drive, there could be few things which comes in mind:
- you didn't enabled the "Wii games" as sources, check in the 4th icon on the top menu.
- "wii games" is enabled, but you are listing the wrong partition. Of course, it's only in case your drive had multiple partitions. In that case, go to settings>hdd settings> click on the first option to select the partition with the wii games. It will not affect the gamecube games, as they are loaded independently to that option. Alternatively, you could enable the "multiple partition" option to be sure all partitions are listed at the same time, but you should set the "install partition" to the one where you want the loader to install games to.
- You have favorite option enabled, but no favorite Wii games
- you have Category enabled but set to a wrong option. go to the category menu in the top bar menu, be sure "all" is set to the "V" (check) mark. not the "X" (cross) mark.
- At this point, you could check if the Wii games are still correctly found/detected on your HDD with WiiBackupManager (to see if the name and folders are good)
best layout is : wbfs/game title [GameID]/GameID.wbfs
- try a clean setup (delete or rename the GlobalGX.cfg and all binaries in the loader's folder)
My issue seems to have resolved itself. I left it off overnight and now it's working fine. I didn't change anything just loaded it up and it works now. I took the following steps:
Updated to r1260 (The meta, dol, and icon were replaced)
Booted USB Loader GX
Got stuck at Initializing USB
Backed up all my data
Formatted it (FAT32 32K)
Put everything back on
Loaded USB Loader GX
Got stuck on Initializing USB
Turned it off for the night after giving up
Turned it on just now
Everything loads just fine
I have no idea what is going on, just happy it's working. It will probably stop again I would assume but for now, I can play.
I had the same thing happen to me. It was because I ran my game cube games through discex to get all my games named properly and in the correct folder. So rather then having my 2 disc games in the same folder with disc 1 as game.iso and disc 2 as disc2.iso, it had each disc in a separate folder both named game.iso. So if you used discex or something similar like I did then all you should have to do is find your 2nd disc games, rename them disc2.iso and then place them in the 1st disc game folder.
Gamecube works better without DiscEx. A lot of gamecube games need to be "clean" ISO.
if you use discEX only to get the GameID and "raw" copy to the correct folder then it's fine.
There's another tool you could use, by the same author than WiiBackupManager : http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/gcit.html
or even Wii Backup Manager can list the GameID but you have to make the folder manually.

Yeah, I used DiscEx just to get my ISOs properly renamed. I didn't have DiscEx compress them. But I couldn't figure out how to get DiscEx to used "Gamename [gameID]" as folders. It always just did "[GameID]".
I tried using gcit and it worked great and did "Gamename [gameID]". But when I tried using a batch script on it I couldn't figure out how to stop it from compressing them. If you are interested in reading more about what I was trying to do you can read about it here (https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/page-508#post-5047629).
And then finally, @GreyWolf had created a program called Origamii Librarian that is supposed to do the same thing as above. Again, I haven't used it but it is yet another thing you can try out to easily rename all your games. His post about his program is here (https://gbatemp.net/threads/origamii-librarian.420333/). That reminds me, I really need to give this program a try. In the end I wound up manually going through all my gamecube games and renamed all the folders by hand and I'm sure I made a few mistakes.
Do you have Nintendont installed? If you do, do your gamecube games load up if launching them directly from Nintendont. If so, then it's a settings issue in USB Loader GX. On the top of the screen click on the 4th icon from the left (looks like an SD card and a Wii Channel). Then make sure that the GameCube box is checked. Now your games should show up. If not, let me know.

if you updated from an old version of USBLoaderGX, the usb is not enabled for gamecube games, only SD card is recognized.
You have to go to settings>user paths>gamecube "main" folder : set it to usb1:/games/
If you didn't update from an old version (3.0 -> 1260) then it should already be set to usb instead of SD.
If it's correctly set to USB, there's another option where you can check :
As the loader let you set two different paths for gamecubes (main and SD), you can list games either from SD or main (usually USB) or both.
Settings > loader settings > gamecube origin : Main > SD > Main+SD > SD+Main
(the order defines which game is displayed first in case you have duplicates on both drives)
For information, the "main" folder is the one used to install/dump games ISO when inserting a disc in the console.
when only DML was possible and only SD card could be used to launch a game, the loader still allowed users to dump games on USB, that's why there are two different path options. One for "launching game on SD" (used by DML only) and one for dumping games. Other loaders are using both paths independently as they are compatible with both SD and USB.
it's the same with wii games, there's a "main" partition where to install wbfs games, but the loader can list multiple partitions and launch any of them.
You probably tried to set "SD path" to usb.
"SD path" NEED to stay on SD CARD.
did you correctly tried to change "gamecube main folder" to USB?
if you did, then you have an old version of USBLoaderGX, please update to r1260 from my signature and launch from HBC.
If you have a full channel instead of forwarder, follow this to replace the channel.
Hi guys, quick question I'm hoping someone can answer before I need to try for myself
If I use Ustealth on my external, can GX still launch emunand channels? Such as WiiWare or VC titles? I know it can launch through sneek, but I was wondering if it worked the same for "regular" emunand.
Or do I NEED to use the "modded" d2x I found somewhere on these forums?
Thanks. @Cyan ?

You should only need NEEK for some N64 VC, Konami Rebirth titles, Liight and Flowerworks. (and maybe a few others I can't think of)
The only other d2x I can think of is the "alt" v10 version that works with HDDs on both USB ports. It has reduced compatibility with EmuNAND but doesn't affect NEEK.

Hi @GreyWolf , I'm using the latest Origamii Build as we speak
It seems to not like the previous database of checked games? Like, games checked as valid by a previous build need to be rechecked with the newest instead of just checking the new added games? That was not the case before... It's taking a loong time to finish...
Anyway, this is the "mod" I was referring to: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ciosx-rev21d2x-yet-another-hot-fix.277659/page-163#post-5092147
I'm using regular 52 by the way.
*EDIT* By the way, the windows installer for the loader is no longer working. It can't download the dol file. You might want to update it...

I changed the database format after we finished testing it because it can handle Wii and Gamecube games now. Yeah, it's slow, but it should only have to be done once at least. On the plus side it can calculate hashes while it's copying titles to the drive so you don't have to wait twice at least.
I think that patch is only for hiding drives from the Wii-U and it's probably incorporated by now but either way it shouldn't affect EmuNAND. It just swaps out the partition type so the WiiU doesn't recognize it and complain about it being invalid.

Neat. Pretty sure it only works with 1:1 ISOS on Wii as well, right? So no point in having it enabled for wbfs files. Just change the top dropdown menu from "all" to "gamecube"?
Why is the tool not linked in your signature? I thought it was a replacement for GCverify? It does everything verify does plus more...
Anyway.
I know what Ustealth does and how it does it.
I was wondering about the "update" to the cIOS.
Guess there's only one way to find out... The good ol' "let's try it ourselves" way

I haven't gotten the WBFS file stuff working right yet but they're mostly verifiable. As long as the partition hash matches and the system area isn't corrupted they should be good.
I didn't put it in my sig because it's not at release quality yet.
I'm not sure about the d2x patch as I don't have a Wii-U.

To make a long story short though, you will need to download d2x v10 (the non alt version) and replace the fat.app file with the one from airline 38 in that post you linked to and then install it. Once you do that all your emunand wiiware and VC games will work from a hidden drive.
Clutz already answered it
Thanks for helping each other when I'm away.
I tried to make a full cIOS package (with airline mod too) but users reported issues so I deleted the link.
I wanted to make a "cIOs installer v10, v10mod, v10alt" package.
I will eventually make it again, but this time I'll test it before releasing it

OK, s0 A few days ago I bought a 64gb USB at Walmart for use with USB Loader GX. I get home, format it to FAT32 and use wii backup manager to copy my WBFS' to my new usb. I try to load USB Loader, and it always gets stuck at "Initilize USB Device". I tried adjustin settings, but that didn't work.
I saw other people having this problem, but their problem was they didn't have ios 58 installed, but I do.
I thought maybe I need ios 236, so I did, but it didn't help. my system check is attached below. Thanks!
