I'm having a problem when trying to switch to the ssb4 lsunch method. When i open minecraft it redirects me to the mii maker instead...

Does the ssb4 method works with a disc of the game? or it needs to be digital? :(
The autoboot is working with the disc.
I think the digital version works too, but not with autoboot. launching a game returns to miimaker, exit and launch SSB manually.

on a side note, I think Minecraft only works if used from an account with no NNID.
Only with miimaker you need an account without NNID (probably because Miimaker doesn't have Miiverse or network enabled).
Smash + NNID works.

Yup, that's what you have to do with the digital version of SSB.
Do you think it'd be possible to make the digital version of SSB autoboot as well?

you need to close Miimaker and launch SSB4.

Nah. It works with one. I even Uploaded a few photos to my Miiverse storage to share on Facebook (which I promptly deleted after saving them first lol)

Hey everyone,

so @Maschell and I were working on DLC support for loadiine gx2 today. We have now a build which we think is ok to make it public. It works for your owned DLC titles on your WiiU with the loadiine gx2 dumps on the SD card. To make it work you have to dump the DLC (for example with ddd) and put the folder "aoc0005000cXXXXXXXX" to the games folder on the SD card where the "content", "code" and "meta" folders are. This is needed due to some access restrictions of the DLCs. Meaning they can't be load from the NAND or USB inside MiiMaker or SmashBros for now (otherwise we would have used that method). But hey that also means now you can swap your DLC files on the sd card with something different and test game mods. Anyway once you have copied the DLCs to the SD card whats left is to enable DLC for that game in the game settings window. Now if you launch the game the DLC should be unlocked and you can use it. We discussed internally and everyone agreed to not make the method of completely free DLC loading public. The reason is that this is a backup loader and this functionality would have nothing to do with backup loading anymore. It would be a pure pirating functionality. So if you want to play DLCs with loadiine gx2 then you have to purchase them from the eshop.

So to everyone who is owning DLCs on his WiiU:
https://github.com/dimok789/loadiine_gx2/commit/492b94443e85001ea9c9150749ac55567d064247

Have fun with it.

Thanks you Dimok, now I will buy only DLC, not games (Thanks loadiine and "backups"!).

Yes: I think that the "DLC-mode" of Loadiine is stupid. I thinked that now we could use the "DLC-backups" in others consoles...

Would this mean that Wii U Sports would now work properly in Loadiine if you've purchased it?

Nice job! Any plans on adding rumble support in the near future?

Also, I noticed that while using my PS4 controller through both Loadiine and legitimately purchased games, (in this case, Bayonetta 1 and 2 respectively) my controller works as well as possible right now, however, both methods of loading games, official or Loadiine, end up crashing the console to a freeze and buzz that lasts for a few seconds, with the buzz going away afterwards. I know for sure that it has something to do with the controller, as this does not happen while using the gamepad. Is this a known issue? Is it being looked into?

But otherwise, fantastic job on this! Keep up the good work. :)

Well I wouldnt try that. As far as I remember you can't install DLCs if you don't own the title but maybe I am wrong on this one.

I can't tell you. I don't have that game and didn't even know it wasn't working correct. I just read from that compatibility list that it doesn't work in mii maker mode because of disc checks. So this is probably still not working

It seems that logically DLC loading from SD inherently is already the "method" of free DLC loading, so that the only thing in the code preventing it is some arbitrary aoc check. Considering loadiine is open-source, isn't it a bit ridiculous to do something like this? I mean, not that you shouldn't be allowed to do what you want with your software, I just don't see the point because someone will just comment it out anyway

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
