gpSP and mGBA exist for the 3DS. They're far better than the crappy VC wrappers (or AGB_FIRM in this case) that Nintendo puts out, anyway.

Not on o3DS, and definitely not better in aesthetic.

I agree gpsp is shit on my 2ds I even installed citra which the max was about 10-15 fps and even then it still sucked.

Now why would you run gpSP, a GBA emulator, in Citra, a 3DS emulator? Just use VisualBoyAdvance-M wherever you use Citra.

MOTHER3 works pretty well when injected into GBA VC, just use that. If you don't wanna inject it yourself, people have posted a couple versions on that iso site.

Mine looks like the original GBA VC, has the title screen as the banner and icon, and the banner VC text says "MOTHER 3 Fan Translation"

If it is mine, have you noticed anything wrong with it, so I can try to fix it?
