  • Blocked Safe Mode (L+R+Up+A) access on A9LH, as using it would brick the console (N3DS) or remove A9LH due to the reboot to SAFE_MODE FIRM.
So we can't access it anymore? How would we get rid of update nags then? Not everyone is using updated sysnand..

Can somebody elaborate on this for me?

Can somesone confirm, before this fix, for N3DS, this button combo would either kill your 3ds (brick, hardmod required) or if you are on 10.7 sysnand, remove the exploit applied to firm0 and firm1 at which point you would need a hardmod to recover because you would be stuck on a normal 10.7? Does this risk exist on other CFW?

I could understand that if you choose to proceed with and update/fix from recovery menu that this may result in the above, but simply hitting the button combo and then canceling? Im surprised! If that's the case then its really awesome that Aurora was able to patch this!

Sorry I didn't know.

Thank you for your answer :)

It is always a pleasure. ;)

Can somebody elaborate on this for me? Before this fix, on arm9 accessing the recovery partitions would brick firm0 and firm1?

Seems that accessing it won't be dangerous but trying to update or whatever may be risky. Not sure about it but just to be sure, as it is really useless to us (with the possibility to boot our own recovery called Decrypt9 haha), it's better blocked. :P

I'm hyped right now.

So does that mean for N3DS on other cfw like reinand and cakes this button combo will either kill your 3ds or if you are on 10.7 sysnand, remove the exploit on firm0 and firm1 at which point you would need a hardmod to recover?

As I understand it it's : accessing the recovery mode itself will not break anything, but because it reboots in SAFE_FIRM and a9lh only patches firm0 & firm1 on NATIVE_FIRM, using it to update will result in those to be overwritten so you loose a9lh if you're lucky or your 3ds bricks if you're not.

i am trying to use the L+Payload combo, but i cant get it to work !

i still have menuhax (but i have set d-pad down for it to load) so my L/R buttons are only for A9LH.
any clue why i cant get it to work? i have start bin as d9 and 'a' as godmode-explorer.
i did place the arm9loaderhax/aureinand into the root of my msd.

Just tried to access recovery and was greeted with a warning/shutdown screen. This really is an awesome CFW!! I feel safe!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So I did something different today, I decided to update sysnand to 10.7 even though I plan on continuing to use 10.7 emunand exclusively but I think on 10.7 sysnand, my emunand 10.7 performs better than when I running it for 9.0 i.e. menus transition quicker in and out of home screen and it just feels smoother. Before I used to occasionally get some small delays. Is this possible or am i imagining it?

Yes, is possible. I have some random slow downs with music stops in home menu too.

When it comes to dual emunand support and a 9.2 emunand I was wondering what the reason for requiring the 9.2 one to be the first or only emunand is?

That alone makes it useless in my current setup. I currently have a updated local region sysnand and a updated region changed emunand for getting Pokemon events.
I wanted to use a 9.2 emunand as a entry point for my Gateway until they add support for a9lh in order to transfer the Pokemon from my emunand to the local region sysnand with Pokemon Bank installed, but having it as the first emunand makes it useless since Gateway would be unable to access the second emunand.

If I could have it as the second then once Gateway boots it should be fine to select either of the other nands.

Since the new buttons mapping, is there a new combo to force reboot on soft reboot on a specific NAND? 9.0Sys/10.7Emu, if while exiting system settings from 9.0 I hold A, I'm getting in EmuNAND (normal behavior) but if I do the same from EmuNAND but holding L+A, to force SysNAND booting, I see splash again but I'm getting back into EmuNAND...

Thank you for your reply!

This is partly true, as im not using Updatedsysnand but regular mode, it boots sysnand (not emunand) with firmware.bin (which now indeed is 10.4).

From the First page:
- If you hold R on boot, sysNAND will be booted with the firmware.bin on the SD card.

It seems I have overlooked it or it was updated... :) But Good to know and see it is clear now. Thank you.
oh jeez, no, you're right, I kind of messed up in my reply to you. The basic idea is that though, at least.

okay guys, i have completely deleted menuhax so that it stops interfering with a9lh/aurei.

but i would like to know how to get some way to boot into the GW emuNAND through the (CFW) Aurei emuNAND!? i know there is some GW cia, i have tried that but it does not work for me :/ and i also have HB cia(it boots all fine from emuNAND as i have hex edited the ropbin file of it!) BUT even through HB launcher cia the GW wont boot :/ it gets stuck on black screen both topbottom.

edit: i do have the gw 3dsx/sdmh files in the 3ds folder on my msd.

any one can help me with this please?

Have you tried the GW cia into a 9.2 sysnand?

That's not possible. a9lh boot emunand without ever touching sysnand. I think you're imagining it.
