Not just Americans, Australians too. I believe it is because we have sports played with feet and balls that are bigger than soccer. We have Rugby, Rugby League, and AFL which are all bigger that soccer. And Americans have that sport played by pansies where they're so scared of getting hurt they have to wear armour and giant helmets.Interesting project.
I already use a great app for that on my phone so I don't have much interest but I think that it is a good idea and something interesting. I'll give a try to see how it works!
Football for British people. We also use the word football in French.
And nearly every Europeans use a word that is pronounced nearly the same as "football" and looks nearly the same... (Fútbol in Spanish, Futebol in Portuguese, fußball in German... I think it's Voetbal in Dutch... Except Italians with Calcio )
Only Americans did something different with the word football... For a sport that is not really played with feet. Ugh. Strange idea.

well, speaking about italy and football, for tomorrow...
Forza Napoli e che dio ce la mandi buona!
Sorry, i had to do this
Rugby may be popular there, but in European countries it is very rare...Not just Americans, Australians too. We also have rugby but it's really popular mainly in the south-west of France. Not really in the northern part (where I live).
Haha, it would be nice... Napoli deserves a trophy, they are playing well since last year... Higuain missed so many things in Europa League last season!
And well, if we are also here to support our teams... Monday my team plays a game and that game (like every other games) is important to come back to first division. Allez Lens. (Don't forget if you ever come in France: Lille OSC is a real pain in the ass! )
Anyway lol, I tried the homebrew. It works well, really nice job. I will not use that very often but it is some solid project. If you have some time and an Android phone (I don't know if it was released on iOS), download OneFootball. It may give you some interesting ideas. (And it's a really good app, I love it )
That's why Europeans call soccer football, because it is the more popular sport involving kicking a ball.Rugby may be popular there, but in European countries it is very rare...
