Okay, I'm gonna downgrade with safesysupdater. I don't care what happens; I can return the 3DS if need be, because it's under a 30-day money back guarantee thank Christ.

Well... looks as if that semi-brick is preventing me from opening sysupdater. :(

nevertheless, I am still not updating to 10.5.

Hi,

first of all, I'm sorry if this is being asked countless times, but I want to be extra-special safe that I don't brick anything.

I just wanted to ask which SysUpdater to use? SafeSysUpater? Normal SysUpdater? Also, I've seen too many forks of SysUpdater around the internet, so it's hard to choose.

Any advice, I'd be very greatful for. :)

Thanks.
Im not reading all these post, but the only difference between safesys and regular sysupdater, is one implements checks to make sure your using good files. Everything else is the same.

Heh another fail downgrade.
Should of updated to 10.3 first then went back down as this works perfect every time for me and softbricked from 99/9.6
So I should've put 10.3 update packs in instead of 9.2 update packs? Because I think that would've had the same outcome as now.

Yes if you used sysupdater to update to 10.3 first then go to 9.2 from that it would be fine. You can check out the last load of pages @ https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-downgrading-your-3ds.407888/ for confirmation from me and others that it works. Also someone put out a PSA but dropped from first page https://gbatemp.net/threads/psa-10-...owngrading-n3ds-consoles.413615/#post-6049170

Please don't listen from people who say bla bla 10.3 is safer to downgrade from bla bla, there no diffrence in the version to prove this,
Reading through peoples comments/posts and doing it 4 times on to 4 different 3ds kinda makes a good point in doing it.

Not really, Remeber that 10.3 was the latest firm so I case of softbrick, you can always restore to it so meaning before tons of people had 10.3 and downgrade but it doesn't make a difference from any other firmware, 10.2 is a near identical firmware since the native_firm wasn't updated

Well something else is causing the errors in the middle of the downgrade. I have failed 2 times going from 9.6 & 9.9 and succeeded 2 times going to 10.3 first so I would still upgrade first.

Meaning what? go read https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-downgrading-your-3ds.407888/ and you will see most people who try to downgrade from 9.9< gets a soft brick including myself 2 times.
Every post I have seen on people downgrading from anything 9.9< has got a softbrick in the past week lol
Downgrading is like troughing a dart, you don't know if it will work or not, until you show proof in the code that causes a higher brick rate on 9.9 or below than go right ahead, most reasons people got brick is due to using wrong fw packs

Heh well I can't do that, I can only go by what has worked for me and others who ended up with bricks and then tried going to 10.3 first on other 3ds's.

Damn. Too bad safesysupdater isn't working anymore for me since the quarter-installed 9.2 caused a semi-brick. :(

As @TheKawaiiDesu said though, I will go and get Shovel Knight with 9.8 updates tomorrow.
