Hacking Now that 10.4 has come out, should i wait?

Aight, I have a question about the safesysupdater. In the safesysupdater thread, there seems to be two files (3dsx, cia). I'm a bit new to homebrew, so I don't have much knowledge about them. I'm assuming you put both files in a folder in the 3ds folder? Process seems to be a bit different from the regular Sysupdater with (3dsx, smdh)

I have the downgrade pack 9.2.0U (Full), which I heard I will have to put in the root of my SD card.

the .cia file is for installation on emuNAND, don't bother with it, the only CIA files you need are the update files. Are you sure you have the new 3ds firmware (you own a N3DS right?) files? If you use the O3DS files you will brick your console.

SafeSysUpdater is useless.
I made a french tutorial with one of the v0.4.2 of SysUpdater = 0 Brick
Even people with New 3DS'es.

My downgrade 10.3 to 9.2 work at the second launch of SysUpdater so.

In Gateway 3.7.1, it is confirmed that the solution is for 10.3 not a downgrade from and to 9.2, their actually going to support it natively

Currently I am downgrading my O3DS, I got the package for O3DS I'm sure. I will downgrade my N3DS next, and I'm aware I need to use a different package for it. It would be the same process right? Is there anything else I need to know downgrading my N3DS? Thanks.

Fish are fun - the thing about emunand I like is that you can downgrade and upgrade freely for the most part with out hurting your sysnand lol

This times a hundred. Rather than trying to learn or experiment, or god forbid actually contribute anything by actually trying, it seems like a lot of people just want to post stupid questions. I swear it's the same four or five questions filling every thread with trash.

There's a search button, and lots of tutorials out there. If you follow a tutorial to the letter and it doesn't work, then please ask the author, but for goodness sakes at least make sure you know how to read basic english.

lets say i bougt a new 3ds with 9.8 stock fw, should i use sysupdater to update it to 10.3. and then downgrade? or i can downgrade from 9.8 immediately?

On Gateways website they say that you should wait. They have a much safer way to downgrade than SysUpdater.

İf you format your sd card and 3ds (fresh devices), you can downgrade more safely.

I just downloaded the USA N3DS files and I get:
MD5: E6339468A1E82B1D50E9222F017C0477
SHA-1: ECA4BA9DF44B03748BB8AA9C42186B38C62C0D1A
If those match you're good to go, he probably made a mistake and got the checksums of the TPP pack or some shit.

Their Gateway Menu downgrade is actually much safer than SysUpdater.

I shouldn't even bother that your 3DSis on 10.3.

Gateway will (very) soon release offial sysnand support for 10.3 (and of course still lower).

I'm currently on 9.2. I wish I was on 10.3. You will get Gateway support + new crypto support(animal crossing and Fire Emblem IF/Fates) Amiibo support (in sysnand)+ Badges support(in sysnand).

Right now I'm on boring 9.2 with nothing supported in sysnand. (at least less)
I wish I got 10.3
