Well, I might get one before playing backups are actually possible; since we all know this is going to happen really soon™, and the version required for this to work is an old one (iirc), I want to get one on an old firmware before they all become overpriced, like 9.2 New 3DSes

My PS Vita might actually get some use outside of ePSP mode once backup loading becomes a thing. Charging real money for that crapware Sony pushes onto the Vita is daylight robbery.

I'd be bloody-well happy if "PSM Dev for Unity" could've turned into "PS Vita dev for Unity" way back before they had the sorry idea of PSM. They'd be making even more millions if they made the console semi-open source, and if they had the decency to polish the Vita design up a bit more before the proper manufacturing process, then I'd be mega-happy right now. I just feel so sorry for the Vita that it fell into the wrong hands..

I don't really get this... Maybe it's because I'm a recent Vita owner and the thrill from my new purchase is still there. Or maybe it's because I like pretty much everything Japanese. Maybe it's because I like a good deal, and Vita games are much more affordable than its competitor's. Perhaps it's because I've been living in Nintendoville for years, and the experience is just refreshing because it's different.

The Vita is not for everyone, but it sure as heck isn't bad. It's not really lacking in games, just the majority of them are indies or heavily Japanese. I don't see as much of a need to pirate Vita games because they are pretty darn cheap (used) once they've been out for a little while.

I agree. When people say the ps vita has no games, they really mean it has no games that THEY like.

There are ps vita games that cannot be played even with the pstv whitelist. Own a pstv alongside a ps vita.

I played with LEGO as a kid, that's basically the analogue version of Minecraft so I was all good. Cool idea though, digitising LEGO. notch from Mojang made many millions magically. :-)

Yeah although the first/second party and higher budget third party stuff dried up quickly within the first 18 months or so that doesn't mean there aren't any good titles at all, just that there's not as many as there should be. And if you get used carts as mentioned they're cheap - most of mine cost between £7 and £12. For once I'd like to be able to play legal backups that I've made myself so I don't have to carry a load of easily lost bits of plastic around.

I had a DS. Massively overrated in my opinion. Other than a couple of great first party titles and a few good franchise ports from third parties, paled next to the PSP. As does the 3DS pale next to the Vita... or at least it would if it didn't have (subjectively) the better library. As the Vita is basically a flop it means the console itself and everything else is cheap though, so it's not all bad.

I agree the DS was meh,once you play all the good games it gets kinda stale. 3DS for me as a 21 year old man who grew up on zelda,it was personally alot of fun to get to replay Majoras Mask. Eventually once you play all the nintendo titles it gets pretty hard to find a solid game though.
