well not exactly every function, but for the most part, yes, a lot of it comes down to flexibility with each game, really, being as every game does something different, you'd have to try to accomodate for that, and being that there was no third-party support for games on the wiiu, it's going to be a little easier developing lol

I understand this stuff a little more now, thanks!

The first Xbox had encryption, what are you talking about? You don't know anything... Just exposing post after post how ignorant you are... Just be grateful that some people with a brain make magic happen for you... I wouldn't like living in a world where we would be waiting for you to come up with something...
the 1st xbox had no encryption, just signed .XBEs
I used to 'Hot swap' IDE HDDs and read them fine on a PC, plus I used to rip my games straight off the PC Disc drive. The BIOS doesn't even have encryption. (I'm a big XBOX1 fan :)

Encryption is not the hardest part of an emulator, the xbox had pretty much none as you just clarified, while the wii u definitely tried.
We now have cemu for wii u emulation, but a good working xbox emulator was never made.
What does matter, is the architecture of the console.

Developer interest also maters.

Should we compile a list of working vs non working games
It may help Exzap to figure out what needs to implemented - optimized first
Optimization? I don't think they're focusing on that yet.
Besides, there are already multiple lists
here
here
and here
...with a quick Google search.

I was already asking for that in a previous release post (see last sentence here), so yeah I think it's a great idea.
Maybe a joint community effort via Google docs or a Wiki would work well? At least this way everyone can help maintain the list.

Those are outdated.

Those are outdated.
But they can be updated. We don't need another thread.

A public Google Doc is probably the smartest thing to do right now. Can't see the need for a dolphin style wiki setup until there's more to say on what games are working and what parts of them don't work.

Maybe not a Wiki like Dolphin, but one similar to loadiine's I think would be fine. Dolphin's is more of a detail page for each game from what I remember, loadiine's is just a list like Google Docs would be. It's been a while since I've been on Dolphin's wiki though so, I could be wrong about that part.

Let's get back to CGA then, since higher resolution is evil apparently. What a waste of a 980 ti...
I didn't say that. I just said that resolutions higher than 1080p in 2015 (as you said) aren't worth it. Have you tried playing 4k on a 980ti? And does 4k worth on a 27-32" monitor? I suppose we are all using our PCs on a monitor and not on a 65" TV or w/e, where 4k might matter...

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the Classic Xbox have locked HDs to it's console? Unless you did some kind of mod (soft / hard) you could retrieve the key to unlock it to put in a PC, or else the hard drive was pretty much a paper weight, without the console's key?

Yes, they were locked, but in a very stupid way. If it was put in "unlock" by the xbox, all you had to do was swap ide cables and you could do stuff. It's been a while, but I think there were also other programs for unlocking using a pc with certain drives.

We can both agree that we will have to wait for Pascal before praying to hopefully have 4K at 60FPS on a single GPU.
On a side note, I am perfectly happy with my 4K monitor (Eizo EV3237) since last year... At least for SC2 and HS, and for work too, especially when you have giant DB to deal with.
