Hi, I recently purchased a GBA game (Final Fantasy VI) on Ebay to play it on my NDS, but when I received it I found out it was a fake. I got a refund by Paypal when I told them and they said I didn´t need to return the game, but now I´m not sure if I really want to play it because I´ve heard about fake games suddenly losing the save files and I would get really pissed off if I was 10 hours into the game and that happened. I´ve tested it and at least so far it seems to save alright, although the game momentarily seems to freeze when it´s saving or loading. The music stops and the screen goes grey for less than a second but enough to make me hold my breath every time... Should I be worried about that, or can it just work fine? Is there anything that I can do to make sure the game will work properly? I know some people that are good at electronics and maybe they could help me if there´s anything that needs to be changed or something like that...

the best thing you can do is if you have a DS flashcart you can use it for backup the save..
if the cartridge has a battery inside, (and most likely there is a battery) expect the battery to run dry at some point and your save will be erased..
since you got a refund and expected to get a real game, i suggest you to use that money to get a real one this time and throw the fake on in the garbage or give to someone else...

but if you want to keep playing the fake game, and you have a nds flashcart, frequently backup the save (and also save frequently)

How do I backup the save on a flashcard?

Right now I´m not thinking about trying to buy a real one again because I´ve come to know that it´s really hard to find this original game and most sold online are bootlegs. The ones that apparently are new and are sealed are too expensive...

I downloaded the file but when I try to run it, it only says "file information: not support adapter?".
do you have another gba cart to test? if the same thing happens with another gba game inserted, then you need to dldi patch the program for your m3 card
tell me which card you want to use (the simply or the real) and test it with another gba game, if the same thing happens i will apply the patch so you dont have to search how to do it and bothering with it

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
