Depends.
Many games > 32gb
Big Games (some go up to 4gb) >32gb
Else >8/16gb

Also iirc Kingston sdcards caused problems, but i'm not sure.

16 GB is just fine. You don't want too many games on it at once.

Scrolling past 5-6 games max on a Sky3DS takes too long and it's a real PITA.

A lot of good games take up less than 1 GB. And you can also trim the ROMs.

I use Sandisk also! I hear kingston cards are slow as heck.

I bought a sandisk too and it works pretty fast
