Sales come-up sometimes here, but usually only when they're record-breakingly bad or record-breakingly good. But, you're right. GBATemp is where it's at ("it" being a generally positive, welcoming community of people who accept everyone and will gladly help each other out)!
I don't know why people would get all excited about sales? I'd be more concerned with gameplay, storyline, soundtrack, voice-acting, ect. ect. People who get involves in those sale issues sound like sheep to me.
Don't believe your first impression. We're all assholes here. Loveable assholes that you'll love to hate.

Be honest this is the only forum I've ever found where the people are nice and the mods aren't dicks
I've been here for a pretty decent amount of time and amassed a pretty large amount of posts. I would have to say, it's the least shit forum I've ever been on. Is it perfect? It's has it's flaws. But those flaws don't overshadow the rest of the great things that make up this site. I would have to say, this is still one of my personal favorite sites, it's even still the first on my bookmarks.
Been here for a LONG time and while members come and go, everyone is very friendly.
I've only been here for only a few months and I can honestly say, there's never a dull momentt here. The mods are friendly and it's easy talking with everyone. I'm actually glad that I decided to join gbatemp.
To be fair the GameFaqs boards are better than they were a few years ago now that I've seen off that little prick Dash_Jr. It was all out war on there at one point.

The way moderation at GF works, with the mods being anonymous, just breeds them being unaccountable dicks. I've never seen another board with such an ass backward type of moderation.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.

Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
