I've been meaning to do a Sword Art Online theme and I finally got around to it! I took a bit of time getting the sound effects just right and I'm very happy with them. The majority of the sound effects are from Sword Art Online's GUI, with a couple taken from the PSP game. They all fit very well together, I think. I made some custom folders which are inspired by the Knights of Blood. The BGM is an instrumental version of Crossing Field.

I also got my PAL Cubic Ninja, so I'm inspired to create some classic game themes to use with my white New 3DS. I thought about a Punch Out! theme the other day, so maybe I'll churn something out soon. Anyway!

can you make the bgm the lyrical version of crossing field?

I don't really like lyrical versions because I think they grow tiresome, but sure!

So, I've finally got around to make a Hatsune Miku theme based on the "LOL" PV. I've been planning this theme for a while now and I'm quite fond of how it turned out!

This theme features:
  • SFX (Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX)
  • BGM (Hatsune Miku - LOL - Instrumental Version)
  • Folders (Themed after a chocolate bar)
  • Borders (Themed after a swirl cookie)
Wouldn't you agree that this theme's pretty sweet? :P

Nice Q_Q
It sucks that I don't own a japanese 3DS >_>
Wanted to take a look into the game files^^

It's worth noting that Pre-Loads can't be fully decrypted until release (seed crypto at work!)

You can get banner.bin, icon.bin, and the exheader, but can't decrypt code.bin or the romfs.

Oh okay D: Thanks for the info. I thought I could be able to decrypt the romfs right now.

Finally!

I bring you this NES Punch-Out! theme! It's based entirely on the training scene with Little Mac and Doc. It's recreated through the use of a panoramic top screen image and cycling touch screen. This actually took me some time to get just right and initially gave up when I tried making it a few weeks ago, but I finally got it working like I wanted it to. It's relatively simple, but there was a lot of trial and error that left me ultimately satisfied. Anyway!

This theme features:

  • SFX (NES Punch-Out!)
  • BGM (NES Punch-Out! - Training)
  • Folders (NES Punch Out! Title Screen)
As I mentioned, the top screen is a panoramic image of the city's skyline while the bottom image features Little Mac and Doc cycle training via scrolling! It's pretty neat! The folders are themed after the title screen and opening it makes a glove punch through it, just like when you press Start.

Okay, I give up. I just can't make "SEEEGAAA" play when you open the 3DS, so screw it. I'm not lowering the sound quality to less than 256 Kbps.
If someone can add that or even increase the overall sound quality somehow, that'd be great. Teach me how to do it please!

Here's a V2.2 of the Sega CD theme I was editing. And of course, credit goes to this guy for the starting point!

Preview of the minor graphical changes:

Added:
-Theme matching sound effects!
-Much nicer bottom scrolling image!

You can get away with a higher sampling rate for your sound effects, but I've had trouble with using over 8-bit PCM@8000 hz for the opening 3DS bcwav. Maybe that's your problem?

Also, I've had trouble in the past getting it to work, even after using the correct file format. I believe it's best to use a theme that already has an opening sound effect. I've also had this problem with border graphics. Even after enabling the option in YATA's settings, it just doesn't work. So, I just use themes that already have them and replace the assets.

What file format are you converting from? Make sure it's mono, too. Also, as far as quality goes, it really helps to normalize your sound effects before you convert them to 8-bit WAV, or you'll get a noisy, low quality sound. An easy alternative would be to amplify the sound using Audacity.

I'm converting from Signed 16bit PCM mono WAV @ 16000Hz. I might try later, but for now I'm done.

Yeah, I believe that's your problem. I specifically remember having trouble using 16-bit PCM@16000 hz. Try 8-bit PCM@8000 hz later along with the other tips. It should work. :)
What about the other sound FX? what bitrate/signing are you using? Your LOL theme is very nice, by the way.

I use Audacity to convert my sound effects from stereo to mono and then export the audio as Header: WAV (Microsoft) and Encoding: Unsigned 8 bit PCM

I haven't had troubles outside the sound effects sounding a little grainy or noisy. I researched that this happens when you don't normalize the sound before converting it to 8 bit WAV's. Amplifying the sound usually gets the job done. I recommend you use Audacity, since that pretty much is all you'll need for preparing your files for conversion.

Also, thanks! The work you did on the Sega theme was nice, too. :)
