You played longer! No YOU played longer!

Well I had to step in and create a one hour on, one hour off schedule for the rugrats. They seem to love it and have not complained about any lag yet and I am wireless right now. Can't wait for them to go to bed tonight so I can get a chance to play. :)

GS had one 3 pack of the Amiibos left so picked that up this morning and will return the boy and girl individual Amiibos when they arrive from Wally World. So let's see how deep I am here. $59.99 for game, $12.14 Prima game guide (to keep the other rugrat occupied while waiting for his turn) $34.99 for Amiibos. $9.76 sales tax. $107.12, but GS saved me $2.85 Today! Thanks GS!

So what do you guys think I should do? Kick them off and make them watch Alpha Dad play or be a push over and just let them have at it?
Wow you spent over $100 for a game that seriously lacks content. This makes Batman Arkham Knight's Season Pass look like a brilliant deal.

Gawd.. I really hate these two Monster High lookalikes whom appear every single time you start the game up explaining which two maps are available to be played. *sigh* I wish they'd make this optional because it's just somewhat unpleasant and annoying to see. I'd rather have My Little Pony characters than Monster High.

Picked this up today, i'll be doing a full review of it by the end of next week.

So far, it isn't bad, but the online service could really use some fine tuning... lag jumping is prominent online.

Finished single player story mode, diving into online multiplayer so far experience a few connection hiccups and some lagging of the ink spots but overall still very fun and interesting! Current at Lv.12

I feel like you won't need a whole week to experience all this game currently has to offer. Five multiplayer maps on a four hour rotation, a single player mode that seems more tacked on than the average CoD campaign, and a stellar lack of variety in online game modes. Not to mention that the top level for online right now seems to be level 20 which it clearly isn't taking people all that long to reach the 50% point towards.

This game really seems ridiculously incomplete, and I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the praise other review sites and people in general seem to be giving it. I mean, I guess the Wii U is horribly lacking in shooter titles, and otherwise the gameplay does seem to be well crafted itself for the game. I just don't know how people can deal with the dumb map rotation system and the otherwise huge lack of content for a title being sold at $60 basically everywhere except the UK where it was properly priced as a budget title. I know DLC is coming eventually, but that's no excuse for releasing a half finished game where the DLC is more like the other half of the game you already paid for.

DLC should not be a means for completing your game. DLC should be for additional content. Splatoon is a greater abuse of the DLC system than I've ever seen before except perhaps since that on disc DLC fiasco with whatever game it was.

So it finally released today for the US, but my Wal-Mart didn't have any in stock when midnight rolled around. Went up there after work today and got two copies (one for me, one for my nephews) But when I asked about the amiibos, they said they haven't gotten any in yet. So I go online and look around and SURPRISE! The scalpers got there first (fuck you, Nintendo) they're all sold out online, and people are getting ripped off for twice and three times what they're actually worth. Now I'm on the hook for a 3 pack at $50, and Inkling boy and girl for half price. But I'm currently in need of a squid. Are there any places that I can order online from that aren't charging people out the ass?

Been playing it all day today. It's fun. The two map system is annoying. I don't think letting you play all 5 would make them stale or whatever reason Nintendo gave for it. If the maps are good, people won't tire of them. Only have to look at pc games and the amount of X map 24/7 servers there are.

Hopefully the extra maps are not too far off, but considering it only cost £22.50, it's fine. Full price, nope, but for budget price, it's fine.

Yep, but this is my kid's first shooter and I am just not ready for COD yet. If they are still playing it next week it is money well spent, but I understand it might not be for older gamers.

This is a kid's game, right?

The worst part is, Nintendo games tend to keep their value for a long time, and it's really hard to get a discount on them, even a year later.

I know the prices won´t go down for a long time.......

Here, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is still the same price since 2009 in most stores! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!:hateit::gun:

People saying the single Player feels tacked on have no idea what they're talking about and have clearly not played it. It's inventive as hell, and every single level adds new mechanics to the mix. It feels stale for the first two or three levels, but by level six it's in the fu swing of things and just keeps ramping up.

It was tacked on. The game was meant to be purely multiplayer. How you feel about it doesn't change the fact that single player was little more than a development afterthought, a series of challenge levels likely out of obligation to include some single player content. If anything, it's a means of trying to cover the fact that multiplayer is seriously lacking in content. It can be fun, sure, but don't build it up as more than what it is, especially when the reported length only sits between three and five hours, at best half the length of a legitimate campaign from any other shooter. Of course, apparently amiibos can expand the single player experience, but that is seriously a cheap as hell way of forcing people to spend even more money to unlock content that should just be there.

I mean, Battlefield and Call of Duty both only include a single player campaign out of obligation. It's never all that long, but usually it's still a fun romp for the ten hours or so it might last. They get kudos for at least fleshing out a single player campaign though, even if it is just there out of obligation when the developers know at least 50% of the players will never even start the campaign and will be exclusively online.

The Story Mode feels like a last minute addition where you go through boring and really uninspired stages then repeat again next time, the bosses are 3-hit too like in Super Mario so really.. what a crappy tacked mode. Mind as well just not have it.

The amount of new content and gameplay mechanics invalidates what you think. I don't know if you've played it or if you're just repeating what other people or saying, but the inly thing that's the same as multiplayer is that you shoot and you turn into a squid when you press zl. You may need to go look up what tacked on means. Using more words doesn't make your argument stronger either (:

The new content is still months away from being released. Splatoon is very incomplete and unsatisfying as of now.

I still have not played it as I am busy getting ready to move and I have no idea if story mode was tacked on or not but my 2005 kid is up to level 21 and loves story mode.

I have not really looked into what the target demo is for this game but the marketing sure seems to me more geared toward Tweens. All this complaing seems to me like a 9 year old complaining about COD being to hard. :)
