Basically this, too. I mean, people will be upset if they cancel it, and they'll be upset if they get the worst version of the game as well. This developer can't really win at this point with the Wii U audience.

Well that depends as Nintendo hasn't had a good version of A 3rd party since NGC meaning 3rd has always been worse on Nintendo

The Wii U owners are like this: "Why don't we get any 3rd party support?!" And then when there is they don't support so it doesn't matter.

It's a lost cause.

Obsoleted hardware is to blame here.
If only the WiiU could at least be similar to X1/PS4, that wouldn't be much a problem.

Heh.

Truer but the issue is 3rd party wiiu games are either 1) old ports 2) suck period or 3) great yet inferior to ps4,bone, and PC versions

More like lack of sales.
I mean Wii was by far below the 3/360 yet they made 3rd party games on Wii . why? It had sales that made it worth the effort.

The Wii was shovelware fodder catering to casuals who didn't really know or need truly quality titles. I mean, the Just Dance games aren't exactly AAA material, yet they sold over 10 million total between the easily turned out sequels and the original because it catered to the fact that the audience wasn't seeking more traditional gaming experiences. Even then, the top 15 best selling Wii games are all Nintendo first party titles, and in the top 25, all but two of the games are Nintendo made or at the least Nintendo published.

With all that said, most of the multiplat editions of games the Wii got were reworked and generally lesser than the titles on the PS3/360. Some of them were decent, granted, but all in all, the Wii wasn't very good for quality third party games.

Absolutely!
I mean the only decent 3rd party tittle were only on Wii (mad world and no more hero's, epic mickey) or certain games with good motion control like just dance.
I mean again during the GameCube most of the 3rd party games were about the same and gamecube had many great ones like re4 and soul caliber 2 but once the Wii came they lowered the quality on 3rd part tittles as an easy cash grab.

Nobody can port/program for this machine? what's the problem with this Wii U thing?

Expensive to develop for if you are already developing on PS4/XBONE/PC, not enough additional sales granted, as it is less powerful the Wii U version will always be worse in comparison (so, if multiplatform, this is the platform not to get).
It is just the way it is.

Expensive or not, when it's done, it's done like ship... ...isn't the developer's incompetence also part of the equation?

Nope, I think the only thing in the equation is the developers economy.
I don't believe they are incompetent, it is that it will just cost too much and give back too little (as in probably red numbers).

Exactly
Even if they make a profit it still would be better for the devs to spend times on things that will make more money

I laughed a bit reading around. People are trying to claim that people hoping for a Wii U version comprised the majority of the approximately $3.1 million Project CARS raised via crowdfunding. I don't think they understand how third party titles and Nintendo consoles interact.

They are like a divorced couple who despite having good times many years ago have an awful relationship and try to avoid each other at all costs

The GameCube seemed to have a good chunk of 3rd Party support but oh god the games that required to swap discs just weren't ideal at all much less the long loading times. I remember trying out Chaos Theory on GameCube and while it looked very good the loading times took longer than they should whereas on the Original Xbox it just felt right at home.

I'd suppose if GTA 3 or Vice City made its way to the NGC it would've been 2 discs. Thank god they didn't.

I don't think people are justified in praising NFS Most Wanted for being on the Wii U when it also works on the PSVita, it's not exactly demanding and nothing like Project Cars. I'm sorry to hear that the Wii U can't handle it, but that's life - hopefuly next time Nintendo will release a console that's not a generation behind. I'd rather not have the game at all than have it castrated for the sake of efficiency.

Meh! Just make the game sub HD or drop effects, problem solved.
LightyKD, everybody. Sure, let's make the game nothing like it's supposed to be, that'll help. Let's put it on the OUYA next, another system nobody cares about - we'll just have to drop the cars, all's good.

Nintendo won't. They are all about fanboys and gimmicks to ever redeem themselves and have had outdated hard ware since the snes.
