Amiibo isn't even a part of IOSU so that'd be impossible :P it's 3 separate libraries(NFC, NTAG, NN::NFP) that get loaded by the OS.
DRM it to a Luigi amiibo anyways, so that Luigi amiibo prices soar, and everyone will want them. Then you can move on to the next steps of taking over the world.

Or *gasp* don't update at all once a new FW version is out. Crazy idea, I know. Screw Amiibos, not gonna fork out money just to use an exploit, esp. if the Webkit one is free.
That's probably the only way Nintendo would get a push to their Amiibo sales. Better have alternatives but if not, that's obviously what people would go for. :P

I don't come here often, just pass by to read up news on what is going on and so on... My last post was on page 190 something... we are by 290+ so I don't want to read all them pages.

I just want to know what progress is this at? Is there any news on any ODE? Is this realistically anywhere close to an actual product in the next 5-Months?

Not saying it is, but if its helps, I am 100% sure people will pay or this, you guys can always make money (since I know you do this for fun or whatnot).

I just been waiting forever now like everyone else. We had our hopes super high when the whole ODE thing and nothing. Then the exploit thing and nothing again.

Please don't flame me I am just looking for answers and this is the best place to ask and get them "/

Thanks.

To be completely honest, I don't think that an ODE has been seriously discussed since around the time you left. Wiikey U was most likely using an exploit that was patched at 3.1.0 and we haven't heard from them since. There is, however, nice work coming along on a kernel exploit that will allow better homebrew. It's currently slated for around E3

We're working on a bunch of things at once. There are efforts to develop a homebrew SDK, which is happening on WiiUBrew with API documentation and in our libwiiu repo, work on a new browser exploit (which is private), rewriting Chadderz's Cafiine tool, and documenting file formats for game modding. Homebrew and game modding are all possible right now, it's all about getting something that programmers and modders can use, so they can make things that the public uses. As for whether we're close to an actual product within that time, yes, and probably before the 5 month mark.

Now if you're wondering whether our exploit will help with backup loading, definitely not directly. We don't have any interest in it, and won't be releasing the kernel exploit until after Nintendo patches it.

Will you release all or only part of the source code?

Why only release after it's patched, legal reasons or ethical? And then why make it difficult for nint to patch or not target firmware already fixed :s sorry guy's just confused, ofc at the end of the day you guys are doing all the hard work and risking potential prosecution so no one at all could blame you if you didn't even release at all despite how wonderful it would be lol

I get the logic, but in case they do have another system version in the works, it's best to have the source anywhere online because it makes it way easier for them to fix.
It's just a precaution :P It works on the latest version and we want to keep it that way for as long as possible. Besides, it's not like it matters much unobfuscated or not, it's a pretty boring piece of code and all the end user will really care about is what we can do with it.

Fixed that for you ;)

Except that the.kernel exploit and webit have about as much to do with wii u iso loading as banana pie

You can pick bananas off of a tree and eat them for free
You have to wait for them to ripen
Bananas are a key feature in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is a Wii U game

->Wii U ISO loading confirmed

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
