I was just curious if any emulators running on the vWii receive a speed boost thanks to the extra power of the Wii U.

No, the vWii is a perfect emulation of the Wii architecture and as far as we know, works exactly the same. It gets a little visual boost from HDMI, but that's about it. Other more knowledgeable people can correct me if i'm wrong.
