The disc drive is more complicated than I thought.
-further worked on the disc read speed emulation, now it (more or less) emulates the disc drive caching which quite alot of games were dependent on, those should now run at a more proper speed again

FUNK TO THE YES

so i dont know what happened since a few days ago, but in the newest revision rogue squadron 3 is a lot faster. Before i was getting 10 second long loading screens and now im getting much more manageable 2-3 second loading screens. Its almost as fast as it was back in v296. Thank you Fix for whatever it is you did that fixed it :)

I would like to say something...

For those people having problems with USB loaders (ULGX, Wiiflow, CFG, etc) running Nintendont, please avoid posting such issue here if the problem is not present when you use the standalone Nintendont app from the Homebrew Menu.

Why?
Because Nintendont is not the one at fault, but the USB loader.
If Nintendont works fine by itself (and this is the Nintendont thread), why do people still post it here like if this was the loader's thread?
Head over to the main thread of such USB loader and ask there why X or Y problem with Nintendont occurs.
It could be because the loader itself hasn't been updated to catch up with Nintendont's updates.

The thing is: ULGX works fine with previous version of Nintendont.
It is clearly a revision change in Nintendont that caused the problem.
Yes, you can wait for ULGX to keep up with nintendont while using a non-gui orientated Nintendont or you can make Nintendont BACKWARD compatible if the revision change doesn't involve fundamental changes that made backward compatibilty impossible.

None of the other usbloaders are kept updated except ULGX, so you are actually leaving users no choice.

It isn't broken for everyone...

Yes but for those who said it is broken, also confirm previous revisions are working fine.

I don't understand the logic when Nintnedo or Sony drops backward compatibilty, people are so angry but when it come to Nintendont, people take it for granted.

I do understand maintaining backward compatibility is not always possible but dont take it for granted

True, but WiiFlow is the loader that Nintendont is made to always be functional with. And CFG is a bit of a starter/has-been choice (imo, though I know many like it), so really, the major two out of the three main loaders are kept pretty consistently compatible

lol, the avatar of you two confuses me.

I have not use CFG and WiiFlow for a long time and I haven't even started to use Nintendont. I am just talking from a logical stand point. You sure they both work with latest Nintendont flawless?

Edit: oh, IIRC, they both don't use argument passing and delete/replace the Nintendont config files everytime - that is one thing that took me so long to use Nintendont - I don't want to risk my HDD with any writing.

Do they support latest options like WiiU Widescreen ?

Not flawlessly, apparently, but certainly to a usable extent at least. I have yet to notice issues, anyway. Then again, I don't use HID controllers

ULGX is not broken, at least not r1241, autoboot on works fine.

ULGX works with current cIOS availables, there's a compatibility problem between nintendont and ULGX the way you need make a workaround with cIOS and USB slots, it has nothing to do with internal settings. By your logic I would say nintendont is broken because it has not adapted to UBGX.

USBloader is the one app who got broken in the most recent revision. Should i remind you that usbloader has been coded in other to adapt to nintendont not the other way around. If nintendont is enhanced to avoid needing HID devices configuration then usbloader needs to adapt to this enhancement, not the other way around, otherwise usbloader would be a bottleneck preventing further improvements on nintendont. If usbloader gx works for you, then fine, congratulations; but again, thats just you. My current setup has been working properly before revision 305 , and i have been using this app since the alpha stages so my feedback is as valid as yours or perhaps more. With just a single user displaying an issue with autoboot after rev 305 is enough to prove that usbloader gx somehow got broken no matter how much you insist that your current setup works fine, so stop misleading devs with your false positives.

Yes, but without a proper Gui, that can be a bottleneck for Nintendont's popularity too. Both NIntendont and ULGX should work hand in hand, not leaving the other behind too much.
Cyan had problem with free time for a long time now and may I stress again - Backward Compatibility if it is not taking too much effect.

So what you're saying is that Nintendont should hold back revisions just because USB Loader can't keep up with it?
That's blasphemy.

I would understand it if both apps were developed by the same guy, but that's not the case.
Stick to the sole app until ULGX gets properly updated, it is not like you won't be able to play anyway.

I don´t have a doubt cyan will put eye on this once he has a time. TBH this is really a small issue, i had already found a workaround (disabling autoboot) which isn´t really a headache; what really tampers me is the other users who believe that an app isn´t broken as long as it working for only them, as if their feedback was enough to disclose any possibility of an app not working properly. With so many possible setups (wii/wii u, hdd/sd, configurations) i find kind of douchey that stubbornness.

The GX issue is simply using HID controllers and Autoboot. Turn off Autoboot or unplug the HID and it's fixed. But this is the Nintendont thread.

But that made no sens. Why is this working for me then? I use HID in front ports and USB in top rear port and everything works fine.

Thanks for your suggestion. Though i mentioned that i already found this workaround since the first post i bring this issue to the topic. But again, this workaround is not a proper solution.
